My Story
Hi folks,
maybe you wannt to hear a story about a little Camaro driver. If not you

It was long before I were allowed to drive a car (age of 18 in Germany)when I was dreaming about a Third Gen Camaro.
I saved every penny from my low trainee wage and sold my little scooter till I had enough for a nice car.
In the summer of the year in which I got my driving license I also visited my aunt in Rockford, IL (the Hot Rod town ;) and saw so much Camaros that there was no choice left than buy a Camaro.
Back in Germany I became my license and after a long time of searching I found my first automobile love.

I've bought it, a '90 RS with a TBI, in 2002 and everything began.
I started reading in a lot of message boards and magazines, tuning books and aftermarket shops to suck in every information I could get. After I started as an complete greenhorn I began to understand how a car work and what was to do to make my Camaro better.
Over the years every free money flew into that car and also drove me crazy sometimes. But it was still my first car, my Camaro!
So it came that it was on the status as you can see on the link below:

The suspension was nice, wheels and tires were fine, the nice new engine which also ate every money I could get over 2 years was in the car and I was just happy and had still big plans with it.

But then, it was the 1st of October in 2005 the craziest and most unbelievable thing that could happen happened:
I smashed my beloved Camaro!
Last pic one day before the crash:

We visited a 1/4 mile event and in the evening I was driving outside the race area. Then there was a corner that was more narrow at the exit and that's it. I flew a few feet, shaped a little tree and crashd with the righter side on a stone cube.

All the work, all the money...gone. I was so confused that I even forgot to cry! How could that happen to me? I knew the limits of that car. I was racing it on the Nurburgring Nordschleife, Hockenheim and the AutoX...but it didn't help. I was to fast so it was 100% my fault...the worst thing on that whole situation.
After my thoughts were clear again I had to look what was up with the car.
It seemed and what a bless it was the case that engine was ok. So there was hope to fix the car and bring it back to the street.
Unfortunately it came out that the frame was bent so there was no real chance to fix everything up.

I got the unbelievable offer to get a parted out Camaro for zero $$$ from Silke, the organisation lady who is managing the 1/4 mile events.

So the new idea was, to put all the good parts from my old car in the "new one".
But after an better inspection we came to the conclusion that there is too much rust. First we thougt about to cut the whole floor pan out and built a complete new tubular frame. But that would have been to time intensive and cost expensive so I had a look through the car markets in the internet.
This winter I found my new car. A '87 Z28 in pretty good condition (here a dent, here a scratch) and only 60k mls. It was not a big act to buy it, because cars in this condition for that price are pretty rare over here.
It was completely stock so it was a perfect starting point.

So first I had some trouble to get it registrated because there were some french stamps in the papers. I was running and jelling for over 5 hours but then finally everything was ok.
Not short after that we started with the work. As you can see the first steps are done...

...the next step was to give the car a new heart. You can read and see more about it, when I have finished the swap site over here soon.

My goal is to make a pure track car out of this Third Gen. A stock F-Body is just fine but there is so much potential left in it. Sure you have to change every part (that's what I do ;), but I know when I'm done this car will earn a lot more respect than the cars have when people see them on a race track.

That is what the car will be built for: Racing! Not on the street or the partwise unrestricted German Autobahn.
So let us see what the time will bring, I'm looking forward having fun with this car. You can see all new evolution steps and pictures from racing events here, same with dyno sessions and so on.
Have fun on this page!
Special thanks to:
Sina my dear: for tolerating everything ;)
Roman: without him I would never have the possibilities to mod the car as we do it through all the years.
Zeno: for infecting me with the racing virus.
Silke: for giving me her Camaro for nothing more than a "Thank You"
Andi, Marco, Thomas, Markus, Heiko and I'm sure a lot other people for all the helpful hands through the years.
