Hi everybody, this is my 1996 Elantra 1.6GLS.
I havnt done much to it, like to keep things clean and simple. Had the car for 5 years now, its done 85 000km with me, has 225 000km on the odometer without any signs of trouble, never let me down.
Its riding on 40mm lowering springs and 15" wheels with 195/50 R15 Bridgestone MY-01 rubber. The springs definately do a lot to compliment the handling of the car. The Elantra's fully independant suspension setup makes for entertaining cornering.
Performance mods are not extreme, they goes as far as a Cone Air Filter with 4-2-1 headers and a custom-made 50mm stainless steel freeflow exhaust.
Future plans: Keep the car as is and hopefully one day get myself a V6 Tibby
Here are two older pics of the car.

These pictures are more recent, before and after comparisons of the car with the lowering kit installed.

Here's a shot of the springs before I put them on the car.

I had an unfortunate accident last year, a small bakkie/van cut accross 4 lanes of traffic directly in front of me, it was raining, and without ABS I couldnt stop in time, did my best to slow down by moderating brake pressure, I hit his left side then rebounded into the pavement(we drive on the left in South Africa).
I needed new fender and indicator the bumper needed sum work and both front wheels needed repairs. It was a sad day.

Thats it, car has been given a new coat of wax so will be heading somewhere to take some more pictures.
Thanks for taking a look, let me know what you think.
