I've owned this car since 1974 when it had a 289 4speed.
Then it got a 351c 4speed, now its recieveing a super-
charged 3.8 V6 5speed from '89 Couger XR7.
The body is stock except rear fender openings are front
fenders with the opening streched about 3 inches.
I haven't run a front bumper since'75, the wheels are
vintage drag slots, 3.5 on the front and 10s on the back
with bullet tip Mooneye centre caps and lug nuts.
There are many suspension mods to lower the car and put
the 10s under the back!
The headers were easy. It helped that I got a set of 289 headers that didn't fit from a friend. I just made new flandes from 1/4 in. steel plate bolted them to the motor, cut the tubes all apart, took one hole in the collectors and concaved the area to make it 3 holes, placed the concaved area against the motor for apperance and found a tube that went from the front port to the collector, making sure the spark plugs were accessable, tack it and do another.
For those of you interested this is a Boler RV 1974 model with alot of exterior and interior mods. Lots of rodders who drive their cars to meets have these intow.
I used the clutch master cylinder, mounted it in the same angle as the original push rod and shortened the rod to fit and everything works great although the pedal is a little heavy.
Although the interior in this pic is a little tired looking the point of the pic is the location of the shifter.
There used to be a small coin tray there that was mostly a junk
collector. I will raise the shifter about an inch and I think it will look factory, the XR7 shift boot even works!
Also notice highend column(NOT!).The steering wheel is old
Superior, the column tube has been chromed along with the
signal light lever arm, now that beautiful tapered part from
the signal lever housing to column is........a polished
stainless martini shaker(HEHE). I had been looking for something
to finish that area nicely for a while and had the measurements in my head when I stumbled upon this shaker in of all places Princess Auto(you need to be Canadian to understand). It is almost a perfect fit and polished up beautiful, cost: 5 bucks!
