This is my 1987 Ford T-Bird Turbo Coupe 460 Street Machine
I bought the car in 1999 with a blown head gasket and planned to install the largest Ford engine available.

I had originally planned to build the car for NHRA and IHRA Stock Eliminator classes
But after 7 years of working on the car to fit the rules, I decided to just build it as a sleeper.
So after 8 years, I am able to drive the car with a 460 and a full size air cleaner, with the ability to hookup a 3 stage nitrous system.

The hood shuts perfect without touching anything and I am running a full size 17 inch engine driven cooling fan.
I achieved my dream of a stock appearance/big engine Fox Thunderbird.
These are some shots of the "test fit" engine.

I wanted to use a 17 inch crank driven fan because the T.C. does not have a grille opening so it needs to have a powerful pull-through fan.
The 3 x 14 air cleaner fits without touching and the N.O.S. top-shot will fit inside the cleaner housing. There will be a 1/2 inch N.O.S. plate under the carb.
Here are some shots of the 460 shorties turned around for a front mount turbo install. These headers are ready to be Jet-Hot coated.

Here are some shots with my new experimental TRX wheels.
