17 March 2007:
This is my 01 Suburban. I just bought it. I thought I'd take some before pics so I can refrence the changes I make. I am planning a 3 inch drop and I want to mount 22" rims as far as looks go. After that I'll Put in a K & N Cold air intake and Dual exhaust with 3' Headers an H pipe and High Flow Cats. Well we'll see how long it takes. Hope you all Like it.
Update 24 March 2007:
I droped the truck 4 1/2" in the back 2" in the front. The drop wasn't that hard. It came as a kit and only took me about 3 hours to complete alone. If I had some help it would have gone alot faster but I'll deal for now. The front will go down probably 1 more inch. I can't wait for the 22s. Enjoy.
Update 30 March 2007:
I droped the front another 1" and I lower the back 1" also.
The front came down easily with a turn of a bolt or two. But the back how ever did take some cutting and measureing to get the extra inch. Both the front and back bump stops had to be removed to accomodate travel but not to hard a task with a saws all.
Update 20 April 2007: I got my 22's, Finally! They are Panther Vector 519MB's wraped in 305/45R22's. It's looks way better now compared to the 16's that were on there. They are a really tight fit and I have to shave the inside of the fender wells to make room. It shouldn't take long.
Update 30 April 2007: I bought a glasspack muffler and replaced the stock one. I am Kinda tight on money so the flowmaster system will have to wait. But for now I have a nice rumble.
Here's a Pic it end just before the rear end and it only cost $40.00

Update 06 November 2007: Sorry I've been gone for so long. I extended the Exhaust all the way back out the rearend. I blew the muffler off so I am running strait pipe now. I also couldn't get the clearance for the tires from shaving the fender wells. So, I lifted the front up a 1/2" and it did the trick. I also found out I am supposed to have 40 series 305's not 45 series tires so my tire is actually 1.6" too big in diameter. So once these tires are done I will buy new smaller tires and I can lower the rig back down. Once all is said and done with new tires and such I will add another 1.5" drop the rig from where it is now. Right now it has a 2-1/2" front and 4-1/2" rear drop. New tires and a re-adjustment of the suspension and it will have a 4" front 5-1/2" rear drop. Wish me luck. These damn tires seem to last forever!
Here's a video of how it sounds. I like !!!!!

Here's what it looked like when I bought it.... and how it looks now
What I see as I get in.
Action Shot....ish. Here you can also see that the drop isn't tuck and roll, even though in all the other pics it does look like a tuck and roll drop. Ohhh, the deception with the reliability of clearance. All of the looks none of the problems.
Here's my small subs they are only 10's but be weary they are loud. I am guestimating the dbl to be around 135 at the drivers seat. I'll give a test run hopefully soon to see how close I am. Go Power Acoustik!!!!
Here's the cheap Head Unit. I also installed a back up camera you can see the monitor above the head unit. An the Camera that mounts on the Licence plate. It's a wireless set up too, very easy to install. You just tap the camera in to the reverse light power and plug the monitor in to a lighter socket. I decided to splice the monitor in to ignition power because it was messing up my keyless entry remote. Plus it looks Cleaner too.

Update 14 Mar 2007:
I think this pic just looks cool, It's what an ant would see.
Here you can see the puddle lights I moved from the side veiw mirrors to under the runnig board steps. Eventually I'll replace them with an underglow light kit.

Update 13 April 2008:
Well, it's been a year since I have owned the rig and it is still running strong. I did a lot of free mods to it like throttle body bore, MAF de-screen, EGR Valve cut off, and Throttle body coolant by-pass. The biggest difference maker was the Throttle body bore, WOW! The throttle response now is insane. Some one ripped off my Chevy bowtie from the grill so now it looks retarded. I think I am just going to buy a whole new grill any way. Chrome paint isn't chrome. If any one has a question on how to do these free mods let me know and I'll fill you in. I gained a decent amount of power out of them.
Update 20 Jan 09:
Well it's been a long time since I was last on here. Unfortunately nothing has changed. I am currently contracting in Iraq now so I have to wait til I get home do upgrade my rig some more. I am still planing on a full headers back exhaust upgrade (prbably MRSP brand) and a super chip programmer. But, we'll see how the money goes. Hope you all enjoyed reading about my ride and I'll update this as soon as I can. Late.
