Thanks for taking interest and time to look at my 1993 Ford Bronco project. Please take a moment, and check out my ride. I like it. At the end of this page there is a list of recent mods I have done to my Bronco, check it out and let me know what you think. Rate my ride but please..Be kind I've worked hard on it, thanks!

This is my 1993 Ford Bronco restoration project. It's not complete yet but it's been looking good.

I have had this Bronco almost since new. The Wisconsin winters had started to take a toll on the body and with a 150,000 miles the 351W was starting to get a little tired.

This is what happens to 14 year old trucks in Wisconsin when you take half way decent care of them. Imagine what they look like if you dont. Even though I was fairly religious keeping it washed and clean, the amount of salt they put on the roads around here is just plain overkill! The engine still ran great thanks to Mobil 1 motor oil, even though the Bronco had a full life of camper and boat towing it did not burn or use hardly any oil. Thats amazing cause I really drove it hard all those years!
This was the ONLY part of the floor sheet metal needing major repair. I welded in a patch and it turned out pretty good! I just couldn't handle a cheesy wheel well patch knowing eventually the rust would return, so I replaced the rear quarters. I was not shy when it came to rust proofing, POR-15 everywhere, and lots of it!
I learned how to weld years ago.....I've seen better but these welds will do. The shock towers were a nightmare, I suppose I could have replaced them.....but after a ton of grinding and 5 or six coats of Por-15 I think they are saved now!...lol
I was not sure about it at first, but then I started to like the blue on the cross member so it stayed. It really stands out against that black satin POR-15.

It really started out as a learning project for my son while he attended auto/diesel school in Nashville. It ended up being a learning project for both of us. He got the Tuff Country 4in. performance lift in and got the engine out. Then he had the engine machined at Knights Automotive Machine Shop, a very small shop in Madison Tennesee that specializes in circle track motors.
But between working and school, that was about all he had time to get done. Not to mention the freinds that bailed out on him after saying they would help him with the project, they were more than happy to rip it all apart.....but when the real work started...they scattered and were not to be found! So after he graduated the Bronco ended up back in Milwaukee in nothing but pieces. We had a lot of fun (along with several heated arguments) assembling the rest of the engine and rebuilding the drivetrain during the winter. I used POR-15 engine enamel on the 408, I love the colors and it is the best looking engine paint I have ever seen.

The Edelbrock intake looks real good, and the valve covers turned out just right. Those stainless Edelbrock shorty headers look pretty cool, to bad you cant see them once the motor is in but you will definately hear them and thats what I'm after.
The original Fuel Injected 351W block was Bored .030 over and now has an Eagle 408 Stroker Rotating Assembly with Keith Black Forged Aluminum Pistons and Edelbrock Performer Heads. The Ford blue Goodyear High Miler Hose really looks good against all that beautiful Edelbrock aluminum and the black engine compartment!
Edelbrock Performer Intake. Competition 1.6 Roller Rockers and High Performance Roller Cam.(actually the roller cam is for a 302 HO) Ford Racing Double Roller Timing Chain and Sproket. Custom Ground Elgin 7/16" Tapered Push Rods, BBK Twin 56mm Throttle Body, Accel 28lb Injectors, HyperTech Chip, MSD 6A Ignition, Blaster Coil and Pro Billet Distributer. Flow Kooler High Flow Water Pump, Melling High Flow Oil Pump, K&N Cold Air, and a nice big 4 core Radiator to keep this powerplant cooled down on those hot summer days.(ok 1 or 2 days a year it really does get hot here in Wisconsin.....lol)
We put on new rear quarters, wheelhouses and front fenders, no bondo on this Bronco. The entire under body and frame as well as the interior floors and inside fenders were wired and blasted down and have 4 coats of POR-15. The paint is Sherwin Williams Jaguar Racing Green. I did the body work in my driveway and garage over winter. Every, and I mean EVERY screw, nut, bolt and washer that came off the engine or body was replaced with stainless steel. And I will tell you that there is not much that hasn't been taken apart and refinished or replaced. The entire front end is completely rebuilt. I have a lot to finish yet though.
My pit crew! My son Rob on the right and his freinds. Rob did a lot of the really hard labor, he says I'm to old and slow and I just get in the way. Rob is a Mobil 1 user, he uses Mobil 1 and nothing else on his Audi S6. At least he learned one good thing while at school in Tennesse...LOL
It was pretty cool to see some power back in the old Bronco, It hadn't had a battery in it or ran for well over a year and a half. It was a relief to see that all of the electronic components still worked and everything actually was hooked up correctly! I was really impressed with the look that the new lights and grill gave it, the real different face that I had hoped for.
I put on Edelbrock Stainless Steel Headers and Stainless Bassani Pipes all the way back. All Stainless Brake Lines,Weston Nerf Bars, Quad front shocks with a 4-inch Tuff Country Performance Lift,Dual Front Stabalizers,Energy Suspension Performance Polyurethane Bushings.
The polished aluminum grill from Carriage Works and clear diamond cut headlights really give the old Bronco a different look! The front bumper back on, new Bushwacker fender flares and new 35s on 17inch rims this thing is getting close to done for exterior restoration .
This Bronco is A life long Wisconsin truck that has been driven every winter since it was new. Good luck finding any rust on it, this Bronco is clean as a whistle.
11/07 The transmission and rear end was just rebuilt by Automatic Transmission Design in Germantown, Wisconsin and is just about indestructable. 4.1 gears, Detroit True Trac Lockers, Dana 44 front end, 8.8" rear end. The drive train is now 100% new. Special thanks to Charlie and all the other guys that worked on it. These guys know what they are doing and went the extra mile for me to make sure everything was just right! I would recommend them to anyone wanting quality work done.

It took alot of work to get the Bronco's underbody like this, do not be mistaken...I busted my ass!

12/07 I just got my new plates for the Bronco and I really like them alot! I think they are a good finishing touch and fit the Bronco well.

I found some decent stroker emblems and I couldn't resist putting them on. I know it's not stock, But not much is anymore.
A little night time peek of the light bar in action............I definately like this!
A little more rust proofing here and there. All the door and tailgate rubber seals have been replaced. I noticed water going through the window seal on the tailgate window so I will be replacing the window seals too.
I (ha ha ha ..who am I kidding) Rob (the sound expert) will be sound proofing with B-Quiet before I put in the new carpet. This was the progress we made in the first year and a half. Our progress can be monitored through the update's, As I progress I will update the pics and information when I can. Rob and I are very proud of our project Bronco and hope you have enjoyed viewing our first restoration project so far!.

I finally got the Bronco out in the woods when we went deer hunting in Nov. 07
Oh yeahh....Deer steaks tonight baby! It took about 2 hours in the woods to get what we came for. Rob shot this big Doe around 8:30am in an old spot I used to hunt over 30 years ago. It was a beautiful running shot..right through the heart at 80 yards, the apple dosen't fall far from the tree!

Rob and I Took the Bronco out and was playing around in a parking lot that had a good 16-20 inches of untouched snow in the middle. This guy in a white car was getting really nervous and started beeping his horn at me....lol
Here's a little Ford Bronco Intake and Tailpipe Music to soothe the soul. A K&N and Bassani production! I love the sound of all that air getting sucked in by the K&N. It sure didn't sound like this out of the factory, if you ask me...it should have! Not bad for a single exhaust! These Bassani tubes are awesome.

When I was a kid I used to collect auto/racing related decals, I would have killed for all of these back then! I wonder how many other CarDomain members used to collect stickers when they were kids? I'm not sure what to do with these now, put them in the Bronco scrapbook or on the truck itself?
I used to collect Hot Wheels cars when I was a kid too, they were always a good source of entertainment....especially when there was nothing to do. I would play with them for hours on end....imagining what it would be like to drive the fullsize versions! I have never been able to find a Ford Bronco Hot Wheels though....never even seen one..let alone a 1993 Bronco, until my good freind Don(AKA LedZepplin) took care of that problem! He put together this cool little package with a little help from his paint program and a lot of thought from his heart, thanks Don.....this one really hits home! Take a look at Don's Saturn, he has done some fantastic photoshopping and he is very creative It is well worth viewing his page...just click on this link and it will take you there.
This is the reason I call it "Money Pit". These are all the receipts for the recent mods. Summit Racing must love me! I hope Mobil 1 loves my 408. I have a huge investment in my Bronco's engine, I wouldn't trust it to any other oil than Mobil 1.
Future Things To Be Done Yet....I'm Always Changing The list!
