Welcome to the start of my project. I bought this 1989 Toyota for $300 from the original owner. It had been well cared for until a couple of years ago when it became a commuter. From then on it got oil changes, but that's about all.

Due to recent vehicular requirements (we had to get a mini-van,) this beauty is now my daily driver! It doesn't have a radio, so I use my portable XM radio/MP3 player for sound. That's why I chose the username Tercel_XM. Here's a pic of me and the car:

The following pics will make it clear just what kind of unertaking this is. The only way I can figure how to fix all the rust is to create custom ground effects. Not knowing anything about doing that, it's anybody's guess how it will all turn out. Just in case it turns out nicely, I took pictures from many angles.

I enjoy creating logos and such, so you'll notice I made up a logo with my username. It's just for fun, so if you are with XM Satellite Radio, I appologize for the copyright infringement!

Thankfully, all of the glass and lenses are intact. I don't have a lot of money for this project, and there will be some things that will either have to be left the way they are or cobbled together. With all the lights and glass, I won't be paying for fix-it tickets!

Here's a big one. The passenger seat is alright and the back bench is real good, but the driver's seat upholstry is in bad need of repair. Of course that means either fixing it with the same stuff as the original seat or re-upholstering both buckets!

The only thing left to say for now is how many miles are on this hoopty. A pictures says a hundred-twenty thousand two hundred forty-three words!
