"Why do you recommend not driving a long stretch of 50 miles or more at the same speed?" I cannot site sources, just remember either reading, or being told not to drive like that until the engine is 'broken-in'.

"Nice, I wish I could go out of the country for vacation as well." Sir, I think you misunderstand. I'm an active duty Army officer & I don't think you would want to go as a civilian where I'm going... Iraq."How many miles did you drive before you decided that the engine was broken in. I'm at 700+ now and some people say 700 breaks it in but I don't thank that would be right. Is it?"I've heard the 'break-in' period for most new cars these days is around 500 miles, or least 500-1000 miles. Your owners manual should be your best guide. BTW, don't drive long stretches of 50 miles at the same speed. However, if you have passed the 700 odo mark, then your probably good to GO. - Take care

Beautiful S2K! Take good care of her and she will last a long time. These rides like to live in the high rpm range, so I'd forget about mpg and just find the sweet spot when shifting. My wife's S2K gets good mpg, but it is not her daily driver.See page 8 of my site for pics of her '04 Suzuka S2K, as well as pics of my '01 C5 Coupe Corvette.
