This is my 81 dodge pick-up. it is lowered, tubbed and has a 440 in it, and it runs 11's in the quarter.
well this is how it started out 10 years ago....slant six automatic city truck in rough shape i bought when i was sixteen for 500 bucks. my dad and i did the body work and my uncle painted it green..drove it for a summer and almost killed the six, but it wouldnt die?? dropped a 360 in it and got in an accident a couple months later. got the payout and bought the truck back.. with the m oney i got the viper paintjob done
couple years later i found a 440 and had my dad build a stout 727 trans for it. shortly after that it got some dents here and there, some from me and some from other people, so we stripped it down and shaved the door handles, gas tank door, side emblems, and marker lights, then painted it again. then it broke a couple piston rings so it got a good engine build and has lasted 5 years of heavy abuse.
some before and after of the engine bay and th e tubs
heaten up some new tires!!!!
for all those guys that ask about the grill. i had it custom made by a buddy that owed me a favor. it is constructed from 3/16 thick by 1 inch aluminum flat bar, the bottom bar is 2 inches deep which we put in to help mount it. it has an arch in it to follow the contour of the rest of the grill, which was achieved by cutting into the back of the bars and just bending it to match the arch, and tigg welding the cuts up. then they set it up evenly spaced and aligned and clamped it all together with c clamps and welded three strips on the back. pretty simple really, then i just polished the front of the bars that you see, spray painted the thing black and cleaned the paint off the polished surface.
THIS BURNOUT IS ON YOUTUBE AND IN MY FILE CHECK IT OUT
