My dad gave me this car after begging for it. It sat behind the barn for a couple years and I just couldn't stand looking at so much potential rusting away. It ran, but was in dire need of an overhaul. It's a 66 Galaxie 500. 352 FE Big block w/the FMX 3spd auto. The interior is custom finished in a stunning red.  I took out the old tired 352 and and had it rebuilt by NAPA. They did a great job with the blueprinting and line-bore. The cylinders had such bad scaring that in addition to a prior .030 bore they had to bore another .030 to smooth them out. The last time this engine was rebuilt by whomever they bored it .030 and put the same pistons and rings back in it. I got the engine back assembled from oil pan to the intake. Even running off an old Holley 500 sumthin CFM and the original distributor there was no question about power.  That was great for all of one day. Disaster struck while my dad and I were out on our first real drive. Lost all oil pressure, pulled over emediately, but being a new engine with those tight tollerences it siezed right there. Came to find out that the oil pump NAPA installed locked up, twisted the rod to the distributor like a staircase railing then snapped.
All is well, NAPA took the engine back and did a complete rebuild again with a high volume oil pump. Not to mention I now have a 352 that's been bored a complete .090 to a 370 and still has plenty of cushion with waterjackets.

This is going to be a resto-mod. A daily driver beast.

Restoration
Tearing out the interior to patch the floors and reseal the cabin. I'd like to put the red interior back in but I'd have to replace a few pieces. Cadillac's Pearl White will look great under a few coats of clear after a debadging and refinishing the main chrome pieces.
