Drivetrain Upgrades
First and foremost I found out that I have a Turbo 350 not a Turbo 200. I found this out because whenever my father and I were changing out the pan seal and filter we bought the filter and gasket for a Turbo 200 setup but the gasket was more then a few inches short and missing two bolt holes. The filter was also way to small. Doing a litle research online we found that the transmision pan with 13 bolts was a turbo 350. Another hint to the transmision swap would be part of another cross member used as a spacer that fit between the transmission and the original cross member. Some more good news would be that the transmission is in real good shape. When ever we removed the pan there were only a couple of metal shaving leading me to beleive the transmision was recently rebuilt or has real low mileage.
This is my Goodwrench 350 made by GM performance parts, bought from summitracing complete with shipping for a little under 1600 dollars. It's rated at 260 horsepower and 350 foot pounds of torque with an edelbrock performer intake and a set of full length headers. However mine has an edelbrock performer rpm with follows the same torque while giving me a better top end and about 15 or 20 more horsepower.
This is a high rise dual plane high-bryd by edelbrock rated for 1500-6500 rpm's providing the low-end torque of a dual plane manifold while offering the top end performance of a high rise. Did I mention I got it half off for 70 bucks!
The main focus of this page is the headers. They were installed before I took a picture of them. They are full length dynomax blackjacks with 1 5/8" secondaries going into a 3" collector.
