More pics to come in future, right now I'm on the road truckdriving.
Anyway, it has the 304V8, 4sp manual, OE (still works)locking rear differential. It came with A/C, though the pump and some other parts are missing. I paid $500 site unseen for it. It had been parked on the side of mountain for 5 years when I picked it up. I changed all the fluids, belts, hoses, plug wires etc... it fired right up. Needless to say, it lacked a lot. it needed, and still does need a whole lot of work.
I have built custom dual exhaust for it with turbo mufflers (glass packs were way too loud on only 20" of exhaust pipe). I reupholstered the seats, replaced the top, hood, and many other little bits and pieces. it has been turning redder. the top is now red too. the front bumper is a home made 2x4" rectangular tube steel bumper with "D" rings for towing. I cut out and folded back the edges of the wheel wells to better clear the 32/11.5x15 mud tires (still rubs in back).

this is pretty much the way it looks now, minus the roof rack and clearance lights (trying to smooth it out now).

This is the way it looked when I unloaded it from the trailer. Notice the lack of giant dent between door and fuel filler cap.
The Factory air conditioning vents, notice ugly rubber floor.
I cut and glued some carpet and padding to fit, and made up some new shift boots.

New tweed seat upholstery, notice to contrast of passenger seat? drivers seat was so bad I had to weld it together using parts of two different seats. I did all the stitching, including the "IH" logo. In the pic you can still see the chalk I used to help me measure out where the stitches were to go, it is long since gone.
This is the view I like to have, that is my Brother's jeep ahead of me. You can see the factory SR-2 hood stripes. (I made a template of them so i can duplicate them on the better hood)

Uh Oh! big dent! I slid about 150 yards backwards down an icy road, then just as it was about to stop, I slid sidways off the road at an alarming rate of speed, right into a tree. You can see that the dent went so deep that the inner fenderwell got a bit hammered.
Just got done installing my home made bumper, and a better hood. the top was replaced a while later.
I forgot I already had a page in here for this scout, there is more details on this here:
