This car will be my Track Car for DE Events. I am retiring my DD from that duty.

It is a 1990 e30 M3 - or - "The Original M3" that was built for homologation purposes for BMW. These were manufactured between 1988 and 1991 I believe. They are basically a street legal racing car that BMW sold approx 3k per year while it was in production. There is site that talks about the e30 M3 and homologation - S14.NET - that is where you can find all the details and history of the car.

Here is where my car gets dicey. The engine has been converted from the 2.5L S14 motor which rev'd to 8k. The previous owner a BMW Mechanic in Georgia basically threw a rod through the block at Road Atlanta during a DE event. The cost to rebuild these S14 motors can run up to $15k. Instead of doing that he took a motor and transmission from an OBD2 1999 M-Roadster and transplanted it into the M3. This is - according to the E30 M3 purists - is a sacriligious event.

He converted it to OBD1 which gives the S52B32 motor an additional 20 HP; along with the Turner Motorsport Chip for an additional 15HP. The engine is putting out around 265HP on Paper. I will post Dyno Results once I get a couple of pulls in. Here is the engine compartment below. The guy did great work!

The car needs some things to get it fully track ready for my use. The list of projects so far are:

1) RD Sways Front / Rear
2) Bilstein Sport Shocks F/R
3) HR Race Springs

4) New Subframe Bushings
5) Zionsville Autosport E36 Steering Rack update R2
6) My neighbor gave me a set of Fikse FM10 17" Wheels for free!

7) I am installing OMP Racing Seats
8) Sabelt 6 Point Camlock Harnesses and Vintage Racing Sports Roll bar.
9) Bought a 3.46 LSD to match up with the Engine and Transmission from the M-Roadster - UPDATE: I bought the 3.46 and went to install. Found out I am already running a 3.25! Anyone need a 3.46?. I guess I am ordering a 2.93 from Koala Motorsports!
10) Just got the Brembo BBK Kit from Race Technologies. It goes on this week!

Stay tuned to this page as I have to get this all done by my first DE event in April at Summit Point with the Schattenbaum Porsche Club. Thanks for viewing my page

Beautiful M3 man. Love the rims too. You should enter it into this contest - www.texacocarofthedecades.com - it'll be a candidate to win the 1990s decade for sure. The E30 is the best M3 of all time!
