Here is my 1984 ford ranger. It has a 2.8 V6 that runs good once in a while. Behind that is a BW1350 transfercase attatched to a TK5 tranny that goes into reverse when it wants to. It has the unfortunately stock front dana 28 axle, re-geared to 4.10. The rear axle is a ford 7.5 with 4.10 gearing that will soon be lincoln locked or easy locker'd. I run 33x12.50 continental contitrac mud terrian tires that I feel grip awsome in the mud & rocks, but suck on the street. One of the rear tires has a lot of big chunks missing & trust me its not from burnouts! These tires shouldnt really fit, but I have trimmed a lot outta the bedsides, & just let them 'modify' the front fenders by themselfs. Now there is rubbing, especially when cornering because I dont run swaybars & the body basically rolls over onto the tire.

This grill is custom, & is not on the truck now.

It has dual tanks & FULL factory skids.

I had a rear-end yoke made because I killed the stock one. This one is MUCH stronger.

I used to have an 84 Ranger 4x4 when I was in high school. I had lot of plans for it, but no cash! I wanted to make a mud rig out of mine too. For a motor swap...go for a carbed 302! I used to have the 2.8 and I didnt like it. A carberated 302, no computers, just power! Check out my 96 Explorer sometime if you want...
