Recollection of the Winged Pony

Saw the Creampuff Fiero, & it reminded me of the only non-Ford I'd ever owned. After a hit & run and thefts of parts of my 1968 Mustang, I had to sell it.
I had to choose between fixing the car or finishing my degree. I decided to finish my degree, I traded it in on a 1988 Fiero Formula in mint condition.

GM had redesigned and reengineered the whole car in 1988 and it received a Lotus designed suspension to better compete with the MR2. Chevy had tried all the tricks in the corporate manual to keep the car a "commuter," but the MR2 opened up the gates for everything Pontiac wanted, except the all-aluminum redesigned v6 (which would have been LIGHTER than the Iron Duke 4-cylinder model).
GM paid for the redesign, and then when the engines started catching fire on the older cars (again with a design Ponitac did NOT want), GM in all their wisdom decided to axe the car after paying for the redesign after only one year of production.
The car was a trooper.
What happened to it still ticks me off:
The story is here:
The case of the missing fiero
Ironically, the bank owes me money on the car, and the legal thieves could never sell it until the bank paid me back. & I kept refusing the checks.
