I bought this untouched vintage car from a U.S. soldier who was stationed in Italy in mid '06 (thanks Ryan!). This is a genuine 1972 Innocenti Mini Cooper MK3 Export, and I LOVE it. Everything being genuine and born in 1972, I am doing some renovating, while keeping it a daily driver (not a show and don't touch car).
Here's the specs and what the car looked like when I took delivery of it:
Exterior:
COLORS: Body Bianco Avorio (Ivory)/
Roof Nero (Black)
MY ENGINE: Block: 998cc A Type
Head: 998cc Cylinder Head ID: 12G295
with 1300cc valves and 1300cc cast
rocker arms
MY TRANSMISSION: 4 Gear Synchronized Remote Change Manual
MY FUEL SYSTEM: Twin HS2 Carburetors with Pancake
filters
MY SUSPENSION: Shocks: Spax Shocks FRONT & REAR
Springs:Rubber Cones with HiLo Ride Height
Adjuster
Bushing:Polyurethane Bushings
Tires: (4) Idemitsu Skidguard 145R10 68S tires

Interior:
Carpet and Trim: Black, Brown and Silver carpet pieces. Black trim. Ivory headliner
Gauges: Innocenti MK3 Export gauges in Italian, with speedometer in Kph
A/V Equipment: None (well, makeshift computer speakers with an auxillary input running off an inverter under the passenger seat)

It all looks so well and dandy; but, the following items were inoperable/had problems:
-no heat and missing heater valve
-no horn
-no reverse lights
-no dash lights
-sticky tachometer
-inoperable interior dome light
-broken passenger seat mount
-3rd gear (pops out)
-leaky windscreen washer tubing
-Engine burns lots of oil and one of the rockers' were stuck due to its bearings being chewed up
So naturally, now the tasteful updates begin...
