After looking into performance enhancing options, I decided to go forth and take on a 3.5L 6G74 engine swap for the Galant to replace the 3.0L 6G72. As of right now there are only two known 6G74-swapped Galants in existence. The engine will be going in with the F5M51 5-speed manual transmission from a 00-05 Eclipse GT. Future plans could possibly include going turbo as well. I have some work ahead of me, but with the knowledge of a group of good people at mitsubishipowered.com this will be done.
Just about where things ended up under the hood before deciding to go with the 3.5 swap. Diamante Plenum and Throttle Body installed on the Galant's 3.0L
Primary reson for the Plenum swap is clear. Runners flow much more free, and it has the possibility of a much larger throttle body.
