This is my 1986 Buick T-Type. When I first found this car, it had been sitting in a barn for a year because the previous owner couldn't afford to have the transmission rebuilt. The car had about a 1/4 inch of dust and when I popped the hood a mouse came out of one of the holes in the hood. Not really a good first impression. The car started and ran well, but the water pump was making a heck of a racket and the torque converter was obviously out of balance. So I test drove the car on my way to a pressure washer to knock the dust off and then found out the astro roof leaked. So me and the owner talked and decided on a fair price. I then drove the car 12 hours home and yes I was very nervous. The car made it home alright and I've had it ever since. I quickly realized that these cars are VERY high maintenance. I'm sure those of you with turbo Buicks would agree.
This is the car a few months after I bought it back in Oct 2003
The next four pictures were taken in July at the 2007 New England Summer Nationals in Worcester, MA. I drove the car up there from SC. The main reason I even thought about taking these pictures was because it was getting ready to look a whole lot different with the mods I had in store for it.
A buddy of mine tints tail lights. Some clear coat with just a little black paint mixed in and presto! I think it really sets it apart from other Buicks in my area. (what little there is anyway)
The weekend after I got home I gave the car a nose job. I'm not too big on hood ornaments.
My newly installed GN nose
I also got rid of the old trunk lid with that old TA wing and got me a better looking one from a GN.
I have been looking for a set of nice stock wheels for my car and finally found a set sitting in my friend's garage. I couldn't let them go to waste, so he let me have them. Besides it gave me a chance to finally get those aweful looking aftermarket wheels off my car.
