I bought this car back in October '99. I paid for it using money earned at Subway. I joke about how many sandwiches it takes to buy something. Well, this is my first attempt at making a decent install on a tight budget, but hey, I've still got time to do another. Let me know what you think. I'll be continually updating this when I get my pictures developed.
If you visited before changes were made, this is a new picture. During the install process, I kicked my mom's car out of the driveway. I always had to put it back every night when I finished for the day. How late into the night was a different story.
Here's a better picture of my car during this install process. It's the last day of school and somebody wrote that on my window. In case you were wondering.
Here's the spare tire well of my HB. All the wires come from the same place. I'll have to fix that. Dont have any pictures of my old install. Grateful for that.
I got carried away and forgot to take pictures. I caught myself in time. Here, I removed the rear seats, built the MDF frame, and put in the garbage bag (actually two). There are a couple of things I would have done differently...
Here's a rear view of the previous picture. I wasnt too sure about what the outcome would be. It didnt look very promising. I'll find out later. Keep your fingers crossed.
Well, as you can see, I put in the first, or was it the second? Oh well. It was the nth layer of fiberglass. Not what I expected. Hmmm. Cant wait to see the final product.
Okay. After the box was hard enough to remove from the car, I stripped the side panels and the rest of the back of the car. The ceiling and front end still have yet to be removed. It actually looks kind of neat without its panels.
As you can see, mother's car stayed out of the driveway for longer than mother thought it would
I spent long nights trying to finish as much as possible. As you can see, I deadended the back in small pieces. If I could do it again, I'd do it in larger pieces....Save some time.
Poor thing. I think it was trying to cross the street. You can stop being squimish. Its not an animal. Its my carpet. It took a while to get it out. It was stuck in one place. I ended up cutting it to get it out. One can take only so much delay.
