What the hell have I gotten myself into?

Jason92GT's 1992 Ford Mustang

This is my `92 Mustang GT, as it sits right now.

Jason92GT's 1992 Ford Mustang

It's a mostly stock strong runner, with ~80k original miles.

My uncle bought it back in '04 to have something to play with, and immediately added the following mods:

BBK ceramic-coated 1 5/8" long tube headers
Hi-flo catted H-pipe
Flowmaster American Thunder two chamber 3" catback exhaust
3.73 gears
Pro-5.0 shifter

After playing with it for awhile, he turned it over to me, being that he's the greatest guy on earth, and I was carless. As far as I'm concerned, it's our car.

At that point, the speedo was busted, and rather than try to find a working unit at the junkyard, I opted to blow ~$500 on the Nordskog Digital Dash unit. What can I say, I'm still a 'Knight Rider' fan.

Before installing the Nordskog kit, we put on some Accel 300+ 8.8mm wires, to reduce RF interference w/ the digital gauges.

The Nordskog install began on a weekend in August of '05, and has not yet been completed as of March '07. The hell you say? No, I'm serious.

First was hurricane Rita, which delayed the project a bit. Then came the health problems, both on my uncle's part and my own. It sat, untouched, in the driveway, until a couple weekends ago.

As of now, there's just the matter of connecting a wire from the speed-sensing unit on the transmission, and buttoning everything back up.

I also opted to add on a DIY LED shift-light using a Summit RPM activated switch. This will plug the hole in the gauge panel where the tripometer reset switch used to reside.

Nice Mustang. Check out and rate my 88 mustang. Let me know how that dig dash works out. I have been considering that myself. Hope to see pics and info on how difficult the install is?
