Turbo test fit
Today i test fitted the turbo, just to see how i would get it to fit and what i had to do, housings had to be rotated so the intake was arouns the right way and so the oil drain pointed downwards, this took me a while as the wastegate actuator wouldnt line up anywhere else, took a while to find the right position and when i did it still wouldnt link up to the wastegate.
This is the turbo on the exhaust manifold, held on by 1 nut
Fitting the actuator was a bit of a challenge, went through many ideas, welding bits on and cutting, i tried bending the bracket but didnt really sit to well, finally we heated the bracket up with the oxy and smashed it flat, and bent it a slight amount, this got it to fit very well but i dont have pics as i just painted the bracket black after burning it before.
I will post pics when i fit the turbo properly with braided lines on.
***UPDATE*** 12/3/07
I got the turbo bolted on with the braided lines and it looks great
This next pic is my job on the oil drain which had to be modified to fit the new turbo, got new hose and wrapped it in heat wrap, turned out rather good
This is my actuator bracket modified and painted black, and the water line going into the turbo
And one more shot of the turbo fitted
And thats it for now, got my tomei rocker stoppers today so im throwing the cams in tomorrow, ill take photos when im finished.
