1969 Chevy Nova

2Foggy's 1969 Chevrolet Nova

Hello all, I am about 40 years young, and I am the second owner of this nova, I was at a yard sale about 10 years ago and found it under a tarp, It was not in running condition then, It needed a carb rebuild and some tranny service, It was completely stock when I got it, with a stock 2 barrel 307 and a power glide tranny, bias ply tires with dog dish hubcaps.

Since I have owned it, It has gone threw many changes one of the most time consuming changes was mini tubbing it, I got the offset spring hangers from comp engineering, and multi leaf springs from a donor car

Then i cut the wheel tubs in half and added 3 1/2 inches to them, then i had to move the frame rail inward too so it would all line up then their was no room for the stock gas tank, So i called up my good friends at Summit racing and got a 16 gallon fuel cell, and sunk it down in the trunk

After a few months it all worked out, and i got lucky finding the rear centerline rims on eBay, they are 10 inches wide with 7 inches of backspacing, I am still looking for a narrowed rear axle so i can have rims with some decent backspacing but these work for now.

The trunk still had enough room for a serious stereo system, I really like my tunes and the 3 fosgate amps and kenwood deck and pre amp deliver the tunes.

I made a filler neck for the fuel cell, and moved the battery to the trunk, that little nitrous bottle is really a capacitor for the sound system,

The engine is still the 307, but i just got my hands on a 350hp 327 with a steel crank and pink rods so thats what i am working on now.

The car is still under construction, i hope to have the engine done soon then i can focus on the body work and painting it.

hey man i have a question about my nova well i had a V6 in it and i bought a V8 for 350 with a camshaft of an edelbrock but i don't know which one it is i bought the engine of my dads friend but he doesn't remember which one he bought so we had problems on the timing so we advanced it to 12 i mean it hauls ass but when i punch it, it just makes the roaring sound but it doesn't take off like burn out u know it just stays their and when the next gear comes in it just kicks in its fuckin wierd though and i put a 350 transmission. but i left the same rear end from my V6 you think thats the problem everywhere i take it to get a check up like i tell them whats wrong and they always tell me different shit like its your timing or your transmission or my carburator all these kinds of shit so i don't know what the hell is wrong with it so right now im just dissapointed because it doesn't haul ass at all and when i try too burn out like when i hold the gas and brake at the same time it fuckin turns off so u think u can tell me whats wrong man please man i don't know what to do with it anymore i don't want to sell it though its been in my family for years
