115 amp Alternator with urethane bushing goes in also.
Two new brake calipers get put on. I will paint them first to add a little color.
So Stay tuned,
Ozzy
----Update----------June 30, 2008------Update-------
Have now pulled the rad and alternator. This allowed me to repaint a few places where the original paint had chipped and rust had started.
I will install the new Radiator to Tuesday. I am going to fill the rad with Pro-Blend Stops Overheating Water Additive.
You mix the Pro Blend with a gallon of distilled water and then top off with distilled water. The Pro Blends reduces rust corrosion and in Houston the fear of a rad getting frozen is little.

----Update----------July 2, 2008------Update-------
New Rad is in and filled up. Alternator is installed and wired up.
Valve adjustment is next. Along with tighting up the head bolts.
WOW, that is so clean and new.
Last things to be done will be to replace Automatic Transmission and Differential Oil.

----Update----------July 3, 2008------Update------------
Transmission drained and filter replaced.
Diff oil replaced also.
Valve adjustment is done.
Bolts nice and tight.
Timing was also done.
Brake Calipers installed.
Painted it RED using High Temp spray paint. Sprayed it into a plastic cup and then brushed it on. You can see the ss brake lines also.
Car is now all done. High AMP Alternator was not working. Reason= I had replaced the cluster lights with LED's.
The LED was not giving enough resitance in order to kick the Alt on. Added an extra ground while the cluster was out.
BMW charging systems does not work if the Alt bulb in the instrument cluster is burnt out. The low resitance caused it not to function. Solution= put in old style bulb.
Drove the car all around this afternoon in order to check the cooling affect of the new rad. I can report that the needle stayed at the 3 oclock or half way point the whole time. I had the A/C on and drove it on the freeway and then in stop and go streets. Curt does a great job in recoring a stock rad with a better core. It goes in just like the stock one but cools so much better. Well worth the cost. If you send him your old rad he knocks off 75 bucks.

The last thing to do will be to have a center console made to cover the A/C. I will update when I get that going.

*************UPGRADES--UPGRADES--UPGRADES****************
I have done some simple upgrades.
Here is a pic of my new dash.
It has a Rosewood overlay that I got on ebay. Its so much better then the fake plastic wood look. Just peel and stick.
Upgraded the sunroof handle to a new chrome one instead of the stock black one.
But also replaced the yellow cup and pitted chrome ring with new ones from BMW. Just need to do the headliner to match the new hardware. One of these days.
Upgraded the rear window latches from the black ones to the old chrome ones.
Replaced leaking windshield washer pump and nozzles.
All new rad hoses. New 71 Degree Celsius Thermostat(Wahler).
Shinny wiper arms.
Raised Letter, enamle painted, metal, hood and trunk roundel.
Electronic Fuel Pump.
Fuel fliter at gas tank, before pump and one after.
Tinted windows.
Hella 7 inch Round e-Code Headlamps
These lamps are designed to last the life of the car and longer. High quality Tempered Glass lenses and silverized polished aluminum reflectors create a beam pattern that will increase the available light on the road by 400% on low beam and 200% on high beam.
Replace missing REAR lap seat belts with 3 point belts. The belts will be the nonretractable type, with chrome lift latch.
Brake lights: Added a mirror material to better reflect light.

Well now that the AC is blowing cold I get to drive my 02 more. So because of that I had to get the seat bottoms re-cushioned. I took the car to Pablo's Auto Upholstery 9013 Long Point Dr, Houston, Texas, 832-282-5347. They do Convertible tops, Head Liners, Door Panels, Seats and Carpet.
Seats removed
That old horse hair pad was worn, and a few springs had given out.

Pablo hand formed the foam in order to fit the seats and was able to re-use the original upholstery. Also, had them paint the seat tracks. I can report that the seats feel much better and now I sit much higher.

Just welded a MONZA STYLE RESONATOR Dual TIP. It contains mini glass-packed resonators. Gives the car a BAD look.

After rebuilding by York compressor twice. Last time was last month. The AC went out again a few days ago. Have no idea what was wrong but I was done with trying to keep that old system working.
Went to Custom Car Cool Air-Cond Company here in Houston and they are putting in a new system, all new hoses, blower, fan, condensor etc. Luckly for me I bought a new bracket
that fits a rotary compressor. Also had a nice new chrome compressor as a future project.
As we all know, size matters for the condensor. Bigger is better especially when using R-134a, so a little cutting was done to the nose.
