I have been waiting to improve on my original center console. Thought it would be the cherry on top of my restoration and modernization. Here is the original console:
Have to say UGLY!! This console was removed when the new blower unit was installed.
The blower unit looked good like that but I wanted the radio closer and some switches installed, along with the hazard switch. Maybe add a front speaker.
A few years ago when I had the radio installed in Houston I met a good guy named "Chico" who said he could build be a console for my 02. I called Chico a few days ago and hoped his cell# 832-665-4313 was still good. Well the number is good and he is working on my car now.
Pics of what Chico has hand made for my 2002 so far.
Left side with a speaker mount.
The console will then be covered in a dull black leather looking vinyl and have some blue accent. So if you need a custom console here in Houston call CHICO.

Well now that the AC is blowing cold I get to drive my 02 more. So because of that I had to get the seat bottoms re-cushioned. I took the car to Pablo's Auto Upholstery 9013 Long Point Dr, Houston, Texas, 832-282-5347. They do Convertible tops, Head Liners, Door Panels, Seats and Carpet.
That old horse hair pad was worn, and a few springs had given out.

Pablo hand formed the foam in order to fit the seats and was able to re-use the original upholstery. Also, had them paint the seat tracks. I can report that the seats feel much better and now I sit much higher.

Just welded a MONZA STYLE RESONATOR Dual TIP. It contains mini glass-packed resonators. Gives the car a BAD look.

After rebuilding by York compressor twice. Last time was last month. The AC went out again a few days ago. Have no idea what was wrong but I was done with trying to keep that old system working.
Went to Custom Car Cool Air-Cond Company here in Houston and they are putting in a new system, all new hoses, blower, fan, condensor etc. Luckly for me I bought a new bracket
that fits a rotary compressor. Also had a nice new chrome compressor as a future project.
As we all know, size matters for the condensor. Bigger is better especially when using R-134a, so a little cutting was done to the nose.
