The story: I have wanted a Jeep for about ever. An opertunity to buy one came up just after 2007 started and I did.
The Jeep: Its a 1996 with 140,000 miles (nothing for a Jeep). It has the 4.0 litre high output motor, a 5-speed AX15 manual gearbox, and the standard select-trac NP232 4-wheel drive system.

I bought it under the pretense that it was a fixer-upper. The first thing I fixed was the door. The top hinge had left the body. An OEM kit and my friend with a welder helped me fix it. As amusing as it was to drive around doorless (after I took the door completely off) it was very cold, especially at -30F. The second problem is the gas tank. It was full of ice. So, I'm still resolving this problem, the second tank leaked. Other than that, it is very nice and I have been enjoying driving it in deep snow this winter.
The fist mod I did was the cluster swap.

A winter photo.
