I purchased this car in 1989 and it was my daily transportation until 2004. In 1998 the engine that came in the car needed to be rebuilt. That motor was a crappy '80 - '85 350 with a cast crank, 2 bolt mains and low compression cast pistons. I did put some Trick Flow heads and a nice solid cam in it but it wasn't worth rebuilding.

Between '89 and '98 I had picked up some parts for a better motor. It was now time to build that motor. This motor ran 12.50's at 110 MPH and got 15MPG on the freeway with 4.11 gears! While the motor was out I removed the front clip and powder coated the subframe, inner fenders, radiator support, hinges, latches, etc. and painted the firewall.

Here are the specs:
- '71 LT-1 block bored .040 over
- Stock GM forged steel crank
- Lunati 6" Pro Mod rods
- Keith Black hypereutectic pistons (9.6:1 compression)
- Speedpro moly rings
- Clevite bearings
- Fluidampr balancer
- Comp 306S solid cam and lifters (260 @ .050 with .555" lift)
- Crane Gold race 1.5 ratio roller rockers
- Trick Flow twisted wedge heads
- Victor Jr. intake
- Holley 800CFM double pumper carb
- MSD Pro billet distributor
- MSD Digital 6 ignition box

Drivetrain Specifications:
- B&M 10" Super Holeshot Torque Converter
- Stock rebuilt TH400 transmission
- B&M Trans pack shift kit
- B&M Quicksilver shifter
- Ford 9" rearend from a '67 Mustang with 4.11 gears and a posi
