this truck is gone now. i sold it on October 2
I originally purchased this truck to replace my '77 f-100 because it needed way too much work and its in too bad of shape to waste any more money on.
This is a 1972 Ford F-250 Custom Camper Special. The motor and tranni are out of a '73 Mercury Montego M7. Its a 351 Cleveland 2 barrel and a FMX automatic. The guy that owned the truck before me bought the whole montego for 500 bucks because the frame was bad, but he bought it for the smooth running 351. I got it for 2000 bucks, not the 3000 thats on the windsheild, but i gave him 500 for the chrome wheels and tires. I wanted a 4x4 but i really liked this truck when i saw it. It has power 4 wheel drum brakes. The last owner replaced the drums, shoes, springs, wheel cylinders, and brake lines.
They owner knocked off a thousand bucks because it wouldnt stay running. It would fire up, run for a couple minutes, and just die. Well i went to autozone and got a remanufactured Holley for 90 bucks. Lol it runs perfect. I took the seat out of my '77 and put it in this one because its out of a '95 and is practically brand new still. I had a lot of great plans for this truck but it just wasnt feasable at this point in my life. at least i can say that i owned it and i sure had fun with it.
I did do a lot of repairs and upgrades too. one of which was the new carb. heres a list of the other major ones:
radiator and hoses
waterpump
alternator and belt
voltage regulator
starter solenoid
battery
carburetor
timing chain and gears
fuel pump
windshield and seal
high volume oil pump and pickup screen
oil pressure sending unit
Interior the day i bought it
Interior after i got it
Pretty clean 351 Cleveland
After a little cleaning and TLC
Nice wheels and tires that came with it
Here, im just trying to show the size of the tires. You can see in comparison to the mustang.
