1930 Ford Streetrod.

This was a great car. I had always wanted a "hot rod" and this was it. My problem with the car was the interior was tight and I had no headroom. Because of the visor over the windshield I would have to lay over into the passenger seat to see a traffic light. The body was also channeled over the frame which took a few inches of head room away but boy what a fun little car that got a lot of thumbs up.

The engine and trans was the typical Chevy 350/350. The tunnel ram and dual carbs were never a problem and the idel in traffic was good. I think the little 450 cfm size of the carbs helped a lot. It had an early Chevy rear end from the mid 50's with a ladder bar and Covair coil springs. The front suspension was more modern with a Mustang II with disk brakes but I thougt it was incorrect for the car and would have preferred a dropped axle with drum brakes.

I traded this car for a 67 Camaro Pro Street (also on this site) and traveled from Ohio to Alabama to meet a guy from Texas. The trip back is a story in its self (2 blown trailer tires on a Sunday in a small town with everybody closed).

The interior was just done when I got the car, the paint was so so and the flames on the side of the car were a decal but looked great at 10 feet or more. There was almost no storage for carring a cooler or chair for the cruise ins. Still enjoyed my Hot Rod but would not want another one.
