I have always liked panel vehicls so I got this crazy idea to make one. I bought my friends mom's 84 Lynx wagon and bought a 85 Escort Gt to use as a parts car and with a little welding and body work this is what happened. I don't have any good pictures of the finished product and the car has been gone for many years. I kind of got carried away when I was working on it, I removed the side vent visors right after I installed them. I wish I would have left the luggage rack off. I never finished the rear of the interior, I did turn it into a 2 seater, I got the rear floor panel from a Excort EXP, I installed some nice Topaz cloth bucket seats that were power (sorry no pics)
This is what I started with
I removed the side doors and the center post
Insatlled the longer Escort GT door and cut out the front section of the 2 door GT and sectioned the front half of the wagon's 1/4 panel
Then I added sheet metal over the side window opening
Added the GT bumper on the front
Removed the front fenders and interior to do the color change
some pics in the paint booth
I had a tee shirt that had this picture on it, it was from a surf shop in Virginia Beach called 17st surf shop, it said "cats gone crazy" I had decals made up in the blue and purple and put it on the side of the car (since it was a "Lynx")
The only problem I had was the rear bumper, the GT one didn't fit, I found a Excort EXP rear bumper and with some minor modifications I was able to make it fit (sorry no pics) I did this project so long ago and didn't take as many pics as I would have liked.
