1939 PLYMOUTH
This was one of my favorite cars. Its a 39 Plymouth 2 door sedan. It's a model P7 which had a slant back trunk. It had a narrowed 55 Chevy dash, 305 Chevy small block, 700R transmission and 10 bolt rear. I took this car to several Good Guy Nationals and was a very nice road car. The front grill was modified by having the lower openings filled which gave it the look of a Ford. This grill and slantback trunk made most people think it was a ford. Then when they saw the dash and learned it was a Plymouth was often a surpise. The last I knew the car was on the East Coast somewhere. If you know where this car is now please let me know.

This last picture was sent to me by the guy that had the car last. This was after a wheel change. I have lost his contact information but would like to find the car again...

Denny here. I can't believe it..... I came home from our club's first cruise tonight and was surfing the web for 39 Plymouth stuff and on CarDomain.... I see a picture of my car (your old car). Yes, I have it. In fact I emailed you back in 2001 with some questions. I bought it off of Jerry in Youngstown, Ohio. Glad to report, she is still doing well..... I have put a number of upgrades in the last year (new Edlebrock Preformer EPS Intake, Holly 600cfm, Mallory HEI distributor, Taylor Wires, Wilwood Master Cylinder/Boster, Interstate Battery and Eagle LS Tires). I have been to numerous car shows and cruises over the years and have never seen another. That is part of the mystic of her....... you don't see yourself coming and going. However, since I have had her now going on 6 years I have thought about selling it and moving on to a coupe. My wife and I debated the issue tonight..... see loves the car and in fact is the one who found it on the Internet and insisted that we go to Ohio to look at it. If I keep it I plan on replacing the radiator with a Walker and maybe next year repainting. She has a few cosmetic blemishes appearing form under the paint (trunk and were the rear lights and fuel filler was)..... do you have any idea what year it was painted? I would stay with red but I also would like to upgrade the interior.... so, we will see. I still can't believe I stumbled across your posting. Let me know if you have any questions. Take care from New Jersey.
