Addition of a K&N Air Filter.
I have a 2005 Silver Amanti that I am starting to work on. I love it. The fact that they aren't that popular as an aftermarket car has its blessings (you don't see everyone driving your car) and its curses (hard to find aftermarket stuff).
As far as engine modifications go my Amanti has a K&N Air Filter, I will be adding more mods and testing the performance after each addition. The following performance tests will each be run 3 times with each new addition, taking the average of the 3 after each modification: 0-60 time, 60-80 time and 1/4 mile time. I started by adding a K&N High Flow Air Filter, then High Performance Plugs, then a Performance Chip, followed by an Electric Supercharger.
I ordered the last two items from www.electricsuperchargers.com and www.stchiptuning.com as a package deal for $100. I figure a $100 is a small price to pay to experiment with these and see if they are worth the money or just junk. I will post the results of the test here.
I received the NE Electric Supercharger and ST Performance Chip in the mail. They definitely look like junk, so much so that I will NOT put them on my car. First the "Supercharger" is a Coleman Airpump, used to blow up air mattresses, the ST Superchip is a Radio Shack Black Box with wires coming out of it. I will chalk the $100 loss up to a learning experience and hopefully save someone else the dissapointment as well. I will find another performance chip and see what I can come up with on the supercharger.
Ok, here are the results of trials 1-3. The other trials are listed below, I will fill in the results as I get them.
Trial 1 (3/11/07): Stock 2005 Amanti, at sea level, 1/4 tank of fuel, running Shell 87 Octane. The time listed is the average of 3 runs.
0-60 mph: 9.57 sec
60-80 mph: 7.83 sec
1/4 mile: 16.60 sec
Mileage: 17 mpg
Trial 2 (Revised 3/21/07): Stock 2005 Amanti, at sea level, 1/4 tank of fuel, running Shell 91 Octane. The time listed is the average of 3 runs.
0-60 mph: 9.51 sec
60-80 mph: 7.63 sec
1/4 mile: 16.54 sec
Mileage: 17.6 mpg
Trial 3 (3/26/07): 2005 Amanti, K&N Air Filter, at sea level, 1/4 tank of fuel, running Shell 91 Octane. The time listed is the average of 3 runs. Definetly more torque, I had a hard time on the 0-60 and 1/4 mile becuase the tires kept spinning, I actually gained .28 sec over stock on the 1/4 mile due to wheel spin, I finally got it enough under control to show a .18 sec loss on 0-60 over stock.
0-60 mph: 9.39 sec
60-80 mph: 7.22 sec
1/4 mile: 16.88 sec
Mileage: 17.33
Trial 4: 2005 Amanti, K&N Air Filter, NKG Iridium Plugs, at sea level, 1/4 tank of fuel, running Shell 91 Octane. The time listed is the average of 3 runs.

Stay with me, I will be updating pictures as I modify my Amanti with advice and help from others.
My 1st and easiest Exterior Mod, I removed the emblems. Very quick and simple procedure that makes a big difference.
Before buying I test drove the Chrysler 300 and the Jaguar S-Type. The Chrysler is a good looking car, but visibilty, and comfort were terrible and it felt like I was driving a tank. The Jaguar was nice but to pricey.
The Amanti was a good mix of quality, price, style, features, handling and performance.
Completed Projects:
Sony Deck with XM Satellite Radio & NESA DVD Player
Headrest Mounted LCD Screens, Crystal Indoor Speakers with 800 Watt Amp to Power them
Kicker 12" Sub with 600 Watt Amp
Planned Projects:

Super chip (If I can find somebody that can point me in the right direction)
New Air Filter System (K&N, curious about supercharger, anybody have any thoughts?)

Here is what I am hoping to get to. These photos are from www.evofusionusa.com, I added the Chrome Billet grill with Photo Shop.
