If you're using an external wastegate vented to atmosphere (not tied back into your exhaust) you'll be able to hear when it is open. You should hear it open up and your exhaust get louder when you reach 7psi. If your exhaust is always loud the wastegate may be stuck open or opening up early. you may need to change springs or install a regulator/boost controller to help keep the wastegate closed.

i dunno, just guessing here... it may be fine and you just -think- its boosting too late ; )

My T3 turbo picks up around 3k rpm or so. when do you get full boost? what are the spec's on your t3/t4? if you have lots of lag your tuning may be off (too rich, timing off, etc), cat/exhaust clogged, or boost controller not working right/wastegate not staying closed.

my guess is the turbo is too big or your wastegate isn't staying closed. do you have an external or internal wastegate? how are you controlling boost?

later,
brian
