more install pics at the bottom of the page
this is the page for my 2000 GMC Jimmy.
if you own a jimmy too, you know what we are up against. i've already done the transmission and transfercase, pinion seals, rear differential cover and brakes all around, four ball joints, idler arm, pitman arm, wheel bearings. I just recently had the rear springs done. New main leaf and the helpers re-arched. it sits noticeably higher from the originals (230,000kms) to level it out, i put two turns on the torsion bars. this is not recomended though, creates nasty camber problems. The pictures with new springs are at the bottom of the page. I've also installed some stereo equipment, and put a magnaflow muffler with two tailpipes and magnaflow stainless steel tips.
This is my pile of parts in the shop on a saturday morning.

oil cooler lines are still on the way
i clean it alot, like once a week she gets a good buffing. if i'm going to drive a common truck, i at least want mine to stand out around the other ones burdened with ugly running boards and cheap whitewalls... dual exhaust pictures are at the bottom of the page... as well as the new stereo install.
thanks for checking it out..

this is the dirtiest i've gotten it. i know it doesnt say much, just a field, a hill, and alot of mud. took me 4 hours to clean it later that day. lol

these are my all terrains, 235/75/15s

under my hood, as clean as possible, driven daily

these pictures include the new springs. after the torsion bar adjustments too.. i gained just over 2 inches in the back, and just over an inch in the front. totally changed the ride characteristics. more firm.
The following pictures have the dual exhaust and the lime green dodge pickup is my buddy's truck, it is on cardomain as well. search "handy handy green dodge" and it will come up.

This is a pic of the planned install, just made from cardboard, gives you an idea of my ideal finished product, all black carpet to match the box.

this is a list of what i've got in the truck for stereo equipment.
2 kaption D.1000.1 Monoblock
1 kaption A.400.4
Optimum battery
2 Farad Power Cap
0 Gauge wiring from front to rear
4 Gauge amp to power to ground
2 12" Kaption SPL Subwoofers
Audiocontrol Epicentre
Blaupunkt Memphis 66 Headunit
2 Power Accoustik dome tweeters (front)
Power Accoustik Component set (rear)
Eclipse 4x6" Coax. Speakers (dash)
Eclipse 5.25" Coax. Speakers (doors)
This is how i had to set it up to drive it around, temporarily while i'm waiting for materials and time to build everything.

JUST TEMPORARY.. NOT GOOD LOOKING AT ALL... but it sounded sweet :D
here are the pics from the couple nights we speant buidling it all... starting with the Finished Product

note the spare battery and 0 gauge wiring

the jack is still accesible through either the back side by removing epiccentre panel, or from the front by folding down seats.
it wasnt easy getting that deck in there, everything else had to be removed

every hole uses these plugs to hold wires nice and tight and it looks really clean when the amps caps are removed.

the box is bolted to the floor using the factory strap down bolts

high dollar rca's everywhere you look. my favorite part of the job when everything was finally coming together

that fuse block is a great design by tsunami. fused power for 4 units, ground block, 0 gauge inputs to battery, and bottom side for capacitor in parallel

the 0 gauge wire is not the friendliest stuff to work with trying to get it through the holes and bent downard.

the backside is still a work in progress, i want to install shelves with doors, i want to store tools and booster cables and all those kinds of things. theres still alot of space back there, i just have to make use of it the best i can.

after all this effort and money, we upgraded the older Kaption 12" SPL's to the new design. what an incredible difference in size, weight and sound.

last minute changes to the plan.

this picture really shows the difference in excursion capability, the rubber on the new speaker is much larger

the last panel.. it all comes together.
thanks for checking out my truck.
