Your looking at a 1968 912 transformed into a 911. It all started with the purchase of the 912 with the 912 motor that was seeing it's better days. The body and suspension were all done with complete 911 updates.
With the motor dead, I elected to rebuild. Finding out that a 912 rebuild was more then an aquired 911 engine, guess what??? All that was needed to make it a 911 was the engine and sure enough I found one, a 2.4 out of a 73. The 2.4 is one of the most versital engines Porsche made. Used the same block in the 2.2, and 2.7.
I ran it in the 2.4t mode for nearly 2 years until it started to die. My top speed from the 912 format to the 911 was 105 to 130 plus (speedo ends at 120).
Now the following has been done. A complete rebuild of the 2.4 to "S" specs. Used 2.2s pistons (10:1), "S" Cams and rebuilt flowed heads and I have an S motor. Two weekends on the motor has it topping somewhere estimated at 140 at the tracks. No idea what a long straight a way would turn, but I'm guessing not much more. Power Band is somewhere in the 3800 to 7000 rpms. Top speed is recorded around 6500 rpms.
Suspension is updated with 23mm and 30mm torsion bars, adjustable hollow sway bars, Belstien Sport Shocks, and adjustable strut bar. Brakes are "S" brakes and front and standard 911 rears.
Car weight is around 2000lbs with a fiberglass hoods.
Full cage with Team Tech belts.
Fun to drive, very forgiving. Have 2 sets of Fuch rims.
I want to run the GRM TT event in June. Please vote for me to run the event.
