matrim108's 2007 Hyundai AccentMy new 2007 Hyundai Accent GS, just home from the dealership. The package has manual transmission, AC, and a light window tint.

matrim108's 2007 Hyundai AccentI got a free pair of Sylvania SilverStar Ultras from an Autozone when I applied for a job there. Thanks, crazy manager. On the left is a 2000 Honda Civic EX with stock headlights, with my car on the right. I know, the difference is dramatic. With your brights on, there's a pretty big difference from stock, but with normal headlights the difference is minimal.

matrim108's 2007 Hyundai AccentSince my boyfriend traded his Civic for a Jeep, his Garmin StreetPilot c340 is now in my car. It's reliable for directions to street addresses and easy to use, but the point of interest database is pretty unreliable.

matrim108's 2007 Hyundai AccentPioneer DEH-P3700MP head unit, does the usual tricks (XM / mp3), and provides 22W RMS x 4. An in-dash kit makes it look clean and gives me a place to store CDs. To the right it's pictured without the kit and with.

matrim108's 2007 Hyundai AccentMy Jensen XA2250 amp providing a bridged 300W RMS to a Dual XINBP212, a ported enclosure with 2x12" Dual subs. Provides surprisingly clean, unsurprisingly loud bass. The box illuminates using blue LEDs. Tacky, but at least it matches my car's color. The mess of wires leads to another amp for my front speakers, and will be cleaned up when I pick up a decent set of RCA cables.

My front speakers have been replaced with Polk Audio db6500, an upgrade I'm very happy with. The car comes with stock mounting points for tweeters, so the component install was easy, and I like that my car looks unmodified. Below's a picture of stock vs Polk woofers, and a shot of the tweeter and crossover next to the woofer before installation.

matrim108's 2007 Hyundai AccentGiven the high power handling rating of the Polks, I found an old Dual XAF460 2-Channel Amp and decided to hook it up, giving them 85W instead of the 22W from the head unit. It's mounted under the driver's seat, where there was ample room. The difference is dramatic, especially with mid-range response from the woofers.

matrim108's 2007 Hyundai AccentMy rear speakers have been replaced with Infinity Reference 6812cf, a modest upgrade. On the right is a picture of the stock speaker, still in its mounting bracket, next to the Infinity speaker.

ThWind81: Sure, I'd be happy to. For the front ones, you just have to take the door panel off. That involves a few screws and then pulling it off - make sure you take the window adjustment thing off too. For the rears, I found the easiest way was to pull the kick panels off at the foot of the door, then work your way around the plastic panel hiding the speaker. There's a few screws, but it's mostly clips - just go slowly and make sure you don't pull anything apart that can't go back together. Let me know if you run into any snags - it's not too tough.
