I am new to all of this, anyways, I live in wasilla Alaska and I have a 1983 Jeep Honcho. It has been a project that was passed on down from my wifes step dad to her, and for the last 4 years, my dad and I have been workingn on it little by little. In this honcho is a newer 360 v-8 engine that has been bored 30 over and completely gone through. It has under 10k miles on the engine as well as the transmission and the t-case.

At this time it still had the original paint job which was white, (I am trying to find pictures of it with the original paint job)with the original Honcho on the side of it. The Honcho lettering was white and red stripes that began at the front fenders and ran down the majority of both the drivers side and passenger side doors. This same design was on the hood as well. After we had the work done on the Engine and tranny, then we went in and started replacing other internal parts as well. We added a 4 barrel carburetor, new intake manifold, of course a complete tune-up, new alternator, battery, air intake, custom exhaust, radiator, clutch fan, pulleys, you name it we have gone through it.

Then it sat for about a year or so, because we had enough vehicles for transportation, then as things happen in life we had to down size and then start driving this awesome GAS HOG =) Jeep to work, guess thats what a 4 barrel carb will do to ya, and a lead foot. Next I finally got the idea of selling it about a year ago, but I wanted it to be eye catching so instead of restoring it and painting it back to the original color I went ahead and decided to do a custom paint job that would be eye catching, because I figured that there would not be a great market here in alaska for someone to appreciate the fact that there was a limited number of these sport side honcho's made in the first place.

So I traded my motorcycle for a custom paint job that took almost 4 months to complete, thats what happens when you have friends help you out. I decided to have it all redone in a metallic jet black down to the inside of the doors are done as well. Then he went in after completing this part of the pain job, and start to spray in frost pearl blue ghost flames. I am going to add some new pictures, well better pictures for that matter I took these in a hurry and my batteries were dying on the camera. The flames looks awesome in the sun because of the pearl they change color as the sun hits them, so it actually makes it looks like they are moving.

There are a couple of things that I still have to do if I decide to keep it, right now i have it up on craigslist here in alaska looking to possibly sell it or trade it for a newer truck, but if I do keep it it is going to be work to the interior of the jeep. It need a new headliner, the original headliner is falling down, I need to replace some of the glass on the gauges, also I need to put some seatbelts in it, well the female ends at least. Also I would like to put some new speakers in it and maybe an amp to help out the cd player that was installed. Other than that just about everthing has been gone through, I do have to fix a spot on the passenger side of the bed that has a crack in the fiberglass above the wheel where one of my friends (in a bone head move) sat their weight on it after I just had it painted and cracked. The crack is about 1 1/2 inches, and some paint has come off so, that is something also I would like to get fixed, and then add some custom rims and tires.

I just got it back from the shop, I had a complete inspection, (Basically a pre-buy) Had the timing reset, it was off a little, new plugs, new blower motor, full service and oil change. This beast is running better than it ever has , and it will smoke the rubber off of the tires if you want it to. It has amazing take off, and one amazing passing gear. Still debating on whether or not to let it go. I have been offered a 99 ford f-350 7.3 diesel full four door, with lots of upgrades for this jeep, but I just cannot pull the trigger yet, well see what happens. Thanks for looking and take care.
