Fancy MS Paint system diagram. I love it when a plan comes together!

The factory CD Player and open dash pocket. They both had to go..

JVC KD-BT1 with Corsair Voyager 8GB Flash Drive
This deck is awesome, JVC knows what features are important. Not only does it read mp3 CDs, but USB port makes it easy to update my flash drive with new music. It can play randomly within 1 folder, or from all folders (up to 12) while displaying the mp3 tags.

The mp3 tags are displayed for a few seconds and then scroll if the song title is longer than 15 characters.

The Bluetooth mic mounted in the instrument cluster.

This is NOT a bass boost at frequency X, this is a remote gain control. This is why I love this line of MTX amps- The amplifier's gain is set at 4V to correctly match the preout voltage of my head unit. With the remote gain knob, I now have dash mounted control of the gain instead of a bass 'boost'. This is great for SQ, and for safe bumping in neighborhoods or close to home. It looks good, too!

The Diamond Audio HEX S600s 6.5 components are amazing, I chose silk tweeters over aluminum. I had the Diamond M series components in my last two cars, but I had to step it up for this Saab. As long as Diamond Audio is in business (and doesn't allow their quality to slip) I won't own any other brand for my stereo speakers. Powering the Diamond components is an MTX MXA-4002 (rated at 100x2, RMS @ 4ohms).

Using an IA Performance 6.5" adapter kit, the Diamond mids fit right in the factory speaker locations. Both front doors have their own FULL Dynamat Xtreme door kit. Each kit is enough for 2 doors, but both the outer skin and inner panel were done to get the best possible SQ from the Diamond Audio speakers. Yes, it costs more than roofing tar that some people get from Home Depot, but it's worth it to me. And it's my money!

MTX MXA-4002 under passenger seat
This is powering the Diamond Audio HEX S600s component speakers at 100x2. Look at all that room! I wanted to keep as much cargo space available, and these amps are the perfect size for mounting under the seat.

SQ_Saab's 2005 Saab 9-2X

Driver's seat, the amp is completely out of sight.

Passenger seat, the amp is completely hidden.

Factory clock cubby, it's perfect for the air freshener. I'd love to pull this and flush mount a matching Diamond Audio HEX 6.5" mid for a center channel speaker, but I don't want to get into delays, signal processing, etc. If you've done a center channel before, let me know!

Air Spencer Squash.. mmmmm!

SQ_Saab's 2005 Saab 9-2X

Custom logo from Lloyd Mats, they have a TON of colors & other options. You can even get the border thread a different color.

SQ_Saab's 2005 Saab 9-2X

Clean and has plenty of cargo space, I wanted to keep as much of this as I could and still allow access to the spare.

SQ_Saab's 2005 Saab 9-2X

Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1 subwoofers in down firing box
I flipped the box up to get a picture. The subs are wired in mono, getting a signal from the MTX MXA-6001 (MTX test sheet shows 710 watts). The box is rock solid, and fits snugly between the rear strut towers and against the rear seats.

SQ_Saab's 2005 Saab 9-2X

Quick access to all factory storage compartments
The subs are connected with banana plugs, allowing for easy removal of the box. I can easily leave the box at home if I need to fold the seats down and haul bigger stuff, or I can slide the box all the way up to the front seats. I love having a great system, but I didn't want my cargo space to be a slave to it.

SQ_Saab's 2005 Saab 9-2X

Plenty of clearance for excursion..

SQ_Saab's 2005 Saab 9-2X

This box fits between the strut towers like a glove. I didn't want it to be any deeper than it had to be and give up more cargo space than necessary, but each sub requires 1.0 cubic feet of airspace. The box is 36.5" wide, so with carpeting it's a tight fit.

SQ_Saab's 2005 Saab 9-2X

Just showing how tight the fit is..

SQ_Saab's 2005 Saab 9-2X

Making the box as tall as possible but still under the seats also kept it from extending into the cargo area more than it had to. It's made out of 3/4" MDF and covered in black carpet to match the factory cargo area.

SQ_Saab's 2005 Saab 9-2X

Finished cargo area
I didn't want anything visible from the outside to prying eyes. Even with a great alarm and dark tint, I don't want to give anyone a reason to even think about a smash n grab.

SQ_Saab's 2005 Saab 9-2X

This is a new cargo mat from Lloyd Mats with custom embroidering. It fits like a glove, looks great, and will last for years. They do good work, they're alot nicer than most factory mats.

That's all, folks!

Thanks to:

Bill @ 'avpriority' on eBay. If you need a box, he's your man! Great communication, attention to details, and exceptional build quality.

All the little people, your tiny hands make me smile. Even though I can't dunk a basketball, I'm a giant in your eyes.

sweet setup, i like it. i'd considered doing more audio-wise, but it'll have to wait. I actually ditched the alpine headunit, the SQ didnt impress me enough to warrant throwing off the uniform console. i would like to someday get a double DIN touch screen though, since that would look much cleaner

ps, i saw ur other post on my thing.... I didn't do the install, i paid for it cause i have NO idea what i'm doing... he basically sent away for the clips from zapco and he mounted it into the back of my backseat... AKA in the trunk behind the sub...that works for mine but its a different story for a saab i guess :(

hey man, thanks a lot. I actually never got around to taking any, I've been lazy. But I listed what I've got and I can describe it but I'll def get some up soon, u inspired me to ;) But the amp is a monster, probably about 2 ft long. I liking the current setup BUT i think im eventually going to use the 1000.4 with the 2 up front then buy a nice ass pair for the back too, and amp it to those. Then buy a separate zapco, maybe 500.1 or something, an amp that to a new sub. But if your interested i'll keep you updated. Zapco is solid and those morels are amazing. They Def worth the money
