A few more Exterior Mods to make the car stand out from the crowd.
It started when I got a good deal on a carbon fiber hood from a buddy on the forums. I couldnt pass it up, so I had to come up with a plan to incorporate it in a nice clean way.
I ended up painting the CF hood on the outside of each headlight ridge back in the cars blue color, left it plain CF in the center, put silver vinyl on the ridges between to set it off and then cleared the whole thing. The hood was so light, I had to later add a set of stainless steel Sparco hood pins to prevent lift up on the highway.
To continue the CF look and balance front to back, I went with a CF center blade insert for the rear spoiler. I put matching silver vinyl stripes on each far side and the word REDLINE on the back before clearing the whole thing.
Next I added a custom lower front lip to bring the RL's front lines down a bit & added a matching "REDLINE" in silver vinyl to the center.
I finally got my 18 ASA JH8s out of the garage and mounted on the car. Specs on the rims for those who care: 18x7.5 40mm offset 5 spoke black with polished lip (not to heavy at 22lbs each) mounted on a set of sticky 225/40/18 Firestone Firehawk SZ50's. They look great and really set it off.
Lastly, I had the car tinted which I had been meaning todo since I bought it. I went with 35% on the front two windows and 20% on the back three. I then de-badged it and spent the day clay-baring, buffing, and waxing her all up for some pics right before the rain blew in. Car looks like brand new, the swirl marks from previous owner are finally gone!! : )
It was a very busy week off from work, but I accomplished a lot and the picture floating around in my head finally came together.
