the car started out as 400 shell i got from an aprtment owner that had a occupant leave the 2002 in the parking lot. I built it for the 1995 season. as a itb car with sidedrafts basically, then in 2000 i put an s14 in it and in 2004 i took it apart to fix many odd modifications,( i drove it alot in those years mostly bmwcca races some vintage and some NASA instructing and racing all the sme day rite Chris?) mailny it was breaking rears and it needed e30 rear bits. I tubbed out the rear area and trunk and modified the E30 subframe and slid it in -perfect -and liked it so much i wanted the cool aluminum control arms -but only way to get that was to use an e30 floor pan - so i got a free donor wrecked 4 door 325 and cut along the rockers and took the pan out - did the same to the 02 and them bent down the edges and welded in the e30 pan inbetween the 02 rockers -mounting it higher than it was -and tieing it in to all the cage points. -its like a 2002 body on an M3 but not that easy -its 3" shorter than an M3. weighs 2200 w driver and now puts 215 at the rears wheels from VAC motorsports in south philly baby -
it uses wilwood brakes custom brake stuff all home brew and runs on 15 -x 9.5 cantilever goodyear slicks -on team dynamics 15 x 7 rims - the spoiler i did with some help and the body is mostly korman stuff but we tweaked the front fenders -
the 2.5 s14 is 12-1 staock air box and intake bits -some internal lightening -tilton clutch CR 5sp -it took 19 months -and wasnt real popular most late nites
its not a pro build -but ive been nto cars for a while and some folks thinks its big league -but i did it all in my shop and spent less than some cars spend on just a motor. (under 20k)
the most fun i ever had was beating will turner in his GA car that cost over 100k -in my home built car ofest 05 at vir
-i ran the hyperfest in 05 as the very first run in the new car it needed a diff -but we finished well

Very very nice. I'm considering doing a street/autocross "M2" in '09. I'm in the midst of doing the due diligence on the project. Where did you get the body kit, namely the front grill and lower? I've got to have a similar one on mine! -Marc
