1991 4WS Prelude Si
This is my first car, I bought it here locally for $1700. I am the 3rd owner. When I got it I quickly realized that the second owner had never heard of maintnece. So after roughly $500 in repairs, she's running like a champ.
This is a picture of it the first night I brought it home, it was late and I had a crappy camera, so excuse that. Also notice how dirty it was, and the diet rockstar, haha.
This is a picture that I took after I spent the $500 in repairs and detailed it, it was deffinatly lookin sexy.
One of the first things I did to my car, Carbon Fiber guage bezel and white guage overlays.
Sent my valve cover in to get powder coated shortly after the guages, decided to go red and black over the whole car. Topped it off with the chrome oil cap and then a mandrel bent air intake. NGK spark plugs, new battery, and this is how she sits now.
Picture of the new exhaust before it got welded on:
More recent picture that shows the dent on my fender very well, but I srill love this pic, it looks clean as hell.
I got inspired from watching all the 180's and 240's on D1 GP, so I figured out how to do the lazy eyes on my car.
Finally got my new hub and steering wheel in. The hub has the cruise control buttons on it seeing they were wired into the stock wheel.
Next up, power steering. I was washing my car over at a friends house, and he flipped out on me because I was leaking something on the driveway. I didn't think much of it and kept driving it that way for about a week, then finally one day I noticed a little bit of white smoke comming out of the hood any time I was stopped at a red light. Upon further inspection I saw that my high pressure hose was leaking. Ordered a new one from NAPA, $72.xx
Took 3 guys and 1 hour to get installed, pain in the ass, but it got done. After that I could turn the wheel with my pinky, and it made the engine bay look a little nicer...not to mention I can use my friends pressure washer again now that I'm not leaky.
Some idiot managed to push the passenger side controls into the door panel without me noticing until after the fact. I took apart the whole door, and shure enough the clips were all busted off, I had to use JB Weld to hold it all back together.
While I was in the process of letting the JB Weld dry, I noticed the door speaker mount had a 3 and 4 bolt pattern. Coincidently I had a set of MTX Thunder 6 1/2" 4 bolt's laying around. I went to go mount them in the basket, but they were too deep, so I busted out the dremel and came out with this:
After sucessfully burning myself countless times by flying melted plastic bits, they fit like a glove and sounded amazing. The glued panel was very sturdy and fit back in necely. All in all it was a good day with a lot of much needed improvement.
I was headed over to my cousin's house out on the back roads, crusing along at about 50mph, and all in a split second I catch a bird out of the corner of my eye fly straight into my car, THUD! I was kind of in shock at first, then I realized I didn't see or hear it drop. I pulled over to the side of the road and shure enough it was logged into where my passenger blinker USED to be. If flat shattered the whole housing and pushed everything back a couple inches. For the sake of the light hearted people I won't put up the picture of it with the bird still in there, but here's the aftermath:
Nothing on that corner of the car works, the blinker, fog light and side marker are all dead. And when I turn on the right blinker, it flashes 3 times faster than normal, the fricken rear blinker looks like a strobe light. It sucks, and its going to be a costly repair. But give it a week or so after it gets fixed, and I'll look back and laugh at it, haha.
Next update will include all of my I.C.E. goodies, I've been working on it a lot lately, (Expect update by May 10th).
