1980 TOYOTA COROLLA TERCEL

These pages are dedicated to a "hobby" of mine, something I take serious, even though some people may think it's just dumb. But who the heck cares, right? As long as it's something I enjoy doing, and whether people have the same kind of like/dislikes, or hobbies of their own, then props to them! :)
Ever since I was old anough to pick of a socket wrench, I have always had an interest in cars and tinkered around on them, even spending countless hours reading tons of information on cars alone. Instead of Porn, it's cars for me. Cars are my "centerfold". LOL. I could almost say that I have never taken my vehicles to a shop to have worked on, unless it was something I just didn't have the tools for (which is almost too rare, example: alignment). I've nearly always done my own work. Even though I don't know everything, I am still learning and am willing to tackle a lot more each time. After working around a truck shop for 6 years of my much younger life, and developing into a Truck Mechanic's Apprentice, I've grown to appreciate mechanics and what it feels like to "bring something back to life" after perhaps seeing a heap of parts on a work bench. No, I don't have a career in auto mechanics, because I would prefer not to do it 24/7, then get sick and tired of doing it. I'd rather make it more interesting by enjoying it as a sort of "hobby" rather than a chore. With that in mind, I've put a lot of time into my machines to make each and every one of them worth something to ME, by my own taste, whether people like it or not, or how much time I can invest (or what others could consider, a "waste of time") in the garage on my own. Which now brings me up to what could be considered a "bad habit": my own cars.
*** Please note: Since "1980" is not an option under "Search: Toyota Tercel rides sorted by Overall Rating", I have indicated it to be a 1981, when it reality, it is a 1980 Toyota Corolla Tercel, the 1st year of the Toyota Tercel in the U.S.A., and the 1st car to be introduced in Toyota history with a FWD drivetrain configuration.

My current "project" that I started taking more interest in is my very first car ever, purchased by myself back in 1996, completely stock, that I really didn't do a whole lot with or think about doing a whole lot with until much recently, my 1980 Toyota Corolla Tercel. Eventually a turbocharged 4AG-E will be it's powerplant, with a possible RWD conversion. Slowly but surely, as time permits due to my busy schedule.

*** Please note: The blacklight's glow is not as visible as the picture shows. The camera is very sensitive to the blacklight giving the appearance that it lights up the whole gauge face. It does not. It just makes the needles themselves glow, and cast a very very mild glow over the gauge face to somewhat facilitate in seeing the digits.
