This is my girlfriend Liv's '96 Fiat Punto S. It's her first car and she's called her Poppy. On paper Poppy has 55bhp and a top speed of 93mph. However reaching 100mph can easily be done on the motorway! Poppy sounds great accelerating in 1st gear and feels very nippy to drive even though she only has a 1.1-litre 8-valve engine. Poppy's shiny black paint looks great in the sun and it's the best colour to match the plain, restored (back-to-black'd) bumpers.
So far nothings been done to her other than install a Kenwood CD player. The interior is comfortable and spacious with lots of storage on the dash. Just don't go around any corners quickly, you'll loose it all!
A few areas that could be addressed are the headlights and side repeaters. At the moment they are both a little boring and amber. Replacing them with clear identical ones would improve the image or replacing them with a whole new unit in either black or chrome would tranform the look.
The original steel wheels with hub-caps could be replaced with alloy wheels. The punto takes 17's easily but the Sporting models alloys look the business in silver and anthracite and together with a lower ride height (40-60mm) really change the image of the car yet retain an out-of-the-factory look.
I hope you've enjoyed looking at my girlfriends car...Please check out my car, leave me a message and vote for me to, thanks...Limited Edition 205 GTI
