17JULY2007: After tracing an overheating problem back to a cracked block I decided to swap out the stock motor for a later model 4.6L salvage motor. The motor was freshened, resealed, and put back together with a higher performance cam. The original intake manifold and front engine cover were used to maintain the distributor and the stock appearance. I'd have a photo, but it looks the same! While the motor was out I had the exhaust manifolds ceramic coated to keep heat down in the engine bay and had the radiator rebuilt as a 5 core unit. The ignition module was also relocated to the fender wall and the clutch replaced. It drives great now and I can go more than 45mph uphill...but, on the downside, you'd never know that anything was done to it at a glance.

1993 Land Rover NAS Defender 110 #204/500.. Finally found a 110 to start working on. Only 500 of these imported to the US in 1993. On small 245/75 BFG AT's in this pic.
The inaugural trail ride on new BFG 255/85 MT's. The truck came with an Old Man Emu lift and shocks, but was relatively stock otherwise.
I had the MT's siped for better wet weather and icy condition traction, which has paid off this winter.
This NAS 110 came with such "luxuries" as A/C, heated windshield and rear defrost, and an auto-dimming rear view mirror. Aside from the suspension, other mods are: Hella E-code Vision Plus headlamps with Optilux bulbs, Hella rear work light, black aluminum 5-bar wing top protectors, extended brake lines, LR rubber cargo mat, and Silblade wiper blades. Of course, there's much more to come!
Some interior shots:

With the four jump seats, it seats nine! Not quite Suburban comfort, but not bad either.
The little V8 that could: 3947cc's of displacement and 168HP(227ft-lb) of pure petrol fueled fury (just check out the performance stats)!

An original magazine test sheet (the HP was a bit overstated) and a magazine ad.
An original spec brochure.
The summit of Crystal Mountain, CO ~ 10,000 feet.
Can you say blizzard?
