body is chopped 5 inches, and channelled about 6 inches.  iv'e still got to go back in and do some leding around in the chopped areas.
lets see the car started out with a used 305 chevy engine of which i've since changed out with a 1965 chevy 327 bored .40 over with a mild RV type cam and 202 heads.  feading the vintage engine is a 3x2 offy intake with 3 rochester carbs, i'm from rochester so i think it's kind of cool.  it still has an old used 350 turbo transmission and the plan with that is to send it to an old guy i know named Murry who will rebuild it and put in one of his own custom shift kits.  during the rebuild of the transmission i plan on trying my hand at polishing it up and using Gibbs Brand oil on it to keep the shine.  the rear end setup is a hairpin style setup with adjustable coilover shocks on a 12 bolt chevy rear, that i'd like to change over to a vintage olds or pontiac at some point.  The front suspension is split wishbones on a 40 Ford axle, mounted suicide, the front brakes are a disc setup from speedway with stainless steel brake lines, Speedway Motors brake pedal and dual master cylinder.  Wheels, hubcaps, and trim rings from Vintage Wheel, 15x8 on the rear and 15x4 on the front.  i've just ordered a set of artillary wheels from Rally America and plan on polishing them as well leaving a coating of Gibbs to see what happens to steel, the wheels i've ordered are 15x5 in the front and 15x7 in the rear, i had to go with a skinnier rear for the Coker white wall tires that i plan on using.   6 gallon fuel tank just for now, the plan with the interior is to have wood slats going all the way down the langth of the car in a sort of adorondak ergonomic kind of a way, and the new tank will be a reproduction from the Hot Rod Co. the radiator is new and i'm going to be removing the 28 grill shroud and modifying a 30 A stainless grill to fit and be able to remove it to survice around it, the way it should be.

spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model Aspcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model Ai've modified some old flat head wire looms to fit a SBC it really seams to have cleaned up the wires

spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model A
spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model Athese are cal custom finned valve covers the Weiand will be removed and used on the 42 ford, i'm not sure if i'm going to cut into these to add an offy breather or not.
spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model A
spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model Athe car as it sits has a Weiand tunnal ram intake with a 600 holly carb and that old style cal custom intake cover, soon i'll change it out with this offenhauser tri power setup from Vintage Speed, in the end i'm planing on replacing the 305 with a 425 nailhead that i've got sitting at that shop so i'll probably just move the 2x3 carb setup right over.
spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model Athere are no shocks on it right now and when i drove it last there was a little bit of wheel hop. i'll probably add friction shocks on real soon to tighten things up.
spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model Aanother thing if you look at that leaf spring....it's seen better days, just another thing that will need to be done, thankfully there is a local place that will custom make me some leaf springs
spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model Ajust added the 3X2 it looks alot better and runs alot better aswell
spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model A
spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model A
spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model Aman that new dash looks good, i think that is all the twin blue guages they made for that, less the hobbs guage and speedo
spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model Athe floor needs to be reworked so i'm going to be cutting it out and redoing the entire thing. the end resualt will be getting my ass to drop down inbetween the frame rails and the drive shaft. one idea is to shape the steel and probably have some structural bends and folds making it alot nicer then what i've got right now. the other idea was to make the entire floor out of word slats even having some 180 degree bent slats that will go over the shaft. any ideas would be great i'll post some shots as it comes along
spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model Ahere is sort of what the new dash looks like when driving
spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model Awhen i cut out the old dash, which is the fuel tank, i left the baffle in the passenger side and made a little cut under there for a little storage compartment. works good for little tools and things

spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model Ai've got a bunch of old stewart warner gauges that are going to be added to the dash, and i'm still not really sure what to do for a floor covering
spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model Athese are to my knowlege called the custom line gauges, and in that line of gauges they were the twin blue style, populare in the 60's for both hot rods and boats, Ed big dady Roth used them in many of his custom cars
spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model Ai've also got a water temp to match
spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model Aonce i'm finished finding all of these old gauges i'll have nearly $1,000.oo in gauges, they're going to look nice though
spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model Aand there you have it all most done just need to drill some holes the small guages are 2 1/8, those holes won't give me much trubble drilling out however the 5 inch hole for the speedo makes me a little nervous, i'm hoping to have this at least mounted for the first show of this year

spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model A

this has got to be a real tuff one to find i've never seen it and now i own it
spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model Aif anyone needs some of these old gauges i'm going to have extra let me know what you need asap, i plan on listing them on ebay very soon
spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model A
i've just completed my colection of gauges and next i'll be ordering a dash panel, i'm probably going with the 32 style 1928 steel dash panel, i'll have to through some pictures up of the entire set once the last gauge comes in for now here is the speedo i've desided to settle on for now i'd like to at some point through a police special speedo in i just want to make sure i find the right one

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!new stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model Athe old chevy 305 small block had to go it was junk from the start, i've started to build up a 327 small block chevy here is a shot of the car and the new engine all taken apart and ready for parts to go over to the speed shop

spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model Aas it turned out i ran the numbers to figure out what oil filter fit this old small block i ran the numbers and it's a 65 block who knows what it was in back then
spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model Aso the 327 is all taken apart and we've got problems, good thing those only cost 22 bucks, i'll be going with all new ones
spcbeaver's 1928 Ford Model Aalso some other unfortunate shit head gasket issues, water got to the barings, crank needs to be ground, one of the heads looked like it needed some weld.....well it's got a crack so the heads might not be period correct any longer but i'll change them out some other time
