Fancied a bit more power so i decided to get a 1.8 20VT lump and transplant it into the Ibiza.
The engine is from a MK4 Golf, and has been thoroughly reconditioned befoe being put in.
Below: block stripped of everything, degreased, and painted. Then some of the anciliaries were put back on to build the engine back up

The head was fully reconditioned with new valves, guides etc, and thoroughly cleaned and oiled ready to be fitted.

Standard water pump was replaced with an upgraded metal impellar type pump. As you can see the original one had nearly seen its days, luckily it was getting replaced.

Head placed back on the engine, and all parts replaced with reconditoned parts, all seals and gaskets replaced, new sensors fitted, new belts, tensioners etc fitted.

Slim line radiator fans fitted to allow for the radiator to be moved backwards allowing the intercooler to be fitted. The radiator was moved back around 1.5''

Car stripped ready for the engine to be taken out

1.8 20VT Dropped in, un plumbed and not wired yet.

Engine wired into the new after market MBE Ecu, and intercooler pipework plumbed in

K03 Downpipe modified to suit the mk2 ibiza. A flange was welded to the existing downpipe to match with the mk2 exhaust and CAT.
