This is my 88 Cougar. It was a factory 5.0 car, with an AOD. I had saved it out of the junkyard around New Years Eve, 2005. I then sold it to a friend of mine and he converted it to a carb'd, slightly worked 302 with an MSD 6A. When i got the car back, i drove it for a week or so, until the oil pump started to go. So for the past month, the car has been sitting, awaiting its new motor.

The old motor was a 5.0 HO roller motor. B-303 cam, Pete Jackson timing gear set, E7 heads with some porting, Edelbrock Performer intake, and 550 Holley. It was backed by the stock AOD.

well my plans have changed big time. the 306 i had bought for the car, has a cracked cylinder. so after pulling the motor it had in it, out.. the car is just sitting again, motorless.

after putting some hard, long thinking into it.. i'm going to build a 302 turbo motor. i have the block, but have yet to start buying the forged internals. I've decided to go with Keith Black 8.5:1 forged pistons and eagle crank and rods.. so i'm looking at having about $700-900 into the short block alone. i already have the cam i want to use. it has .529/.518 lift and i'll be running roller valvetrane.

for heads, i'll be using Ford E7's with porting and possibly a 3-angle valve job. of course, i'll be going with a Victor Jr intake and Edelbrock 750cfm carb(injection is for pussys).

the turbo itself is yet to be decided on, it all depends on what i can dig up in a boneyard and rebuild. but i can gaurantee it will be no smaller than 80mm. it'll have all custom intake tubing. and for headers, i will be using BBK or Hedman shortys, so i can flip them upside down and backwards to point out the front(or even modify them if i have to).

to back the motor up, i'll be using a C6, whether or not it'll have work done to it is yet to be desired. i'll be running a 3000 stall converter with it, along with 3.73's in the rear. the trak lok carrier is going to remain what i use, considering the rear was rebuilt not too long ago. eventually at some point i'll upgrade to a 9 inch with a locker.

All in all, it should be pushing around 700hp depending on the amount of boost i'm pushing. for a while the car will be trailered to the track until i know it's reliable enough to drive. THEN and only then, i will drive it as a weekend/track toy. once the body is 100%, i'll also begin showing it, along with my Cutlass.
