Woke her up from the grave. The head gasket blew and car was on hiatus for 6 months.
Was a good motor but met it's fate =(
Test fitting smaller intercooler. The Greddy and others would have been an easier and cheaper install but the bumper I have has too small of an opening. I opted for a Spearco IC and Hybrid pipes...fits perfectly behind the opening. Had to cut some sheet metal, weld custom brackets, and drill holes on the rad support but was worth it. OEM like. (yes I say it alot)
Preparing Kouki SR20 transplant
While I had the motor sitting something punctued the valve cover?! Was a major setback but Engine Depot was cool enough to give me an alternative for free.
Yep this was the solution! I think it was a display cover but it was for the blacktop SR so I made it work. The cover had no holes to screw on the coilpacks and cover so I had to take it to machine shop to drill the holes. That was another headache but eventually I got it working.
Sanded it down to the metal, and gave it a couple coats of semi-gloss black. Started hand painting the letters.
Finally got the motor in after painting the engine bay semi-gloss black as well.
Painted the coilpack cover silver and red to change it up and give some accent.

Started tieing everything together..
