1976 Pontiac Transam 400 with a true pontiac engine ,4speed borgwarner super t-10 ,factory 323 true lock posi rear. I purchased the car as a basket case in 1991.
The car is basically original except for the 185 horse power boat anchor of a motor. I replaced the engine with a 1970 GTO 400 block. I had the block punched .30 over and fitted with forged trw pistons, the crank was cut 10 10 and the blocked was aligned honed. The camshaft is a 530 lift on the ehxaust and 525 on the intake with 1.65 ratio roller rocker arms. I am currently installing 1970 ram air III heads with ferra stainless steel valves. The new heads are 72cc as compared to the old heads of 96cc. The new heads will bump my compression from 8.5 to 10. I will run it this summer at atco raceway. I will have better pictures this summer.

Atco raceway at the all pontiac show.

just trying the slicks for fun

Just got the heads back from the machine shop They are fitted with 2.11inch intake and 1.77 inch exhaust valves.

The big poncho engine waiting to be assembled. It's just too cold out right now!
