



THIS IS MY '61 BEETLE. COMPLETED THE BACKYARD RESTORE IN OCTOBER OF '99. EVEN THE PAINT WAS SHOT IN BACKYARD. IT'S ALL STOCK EXCEPT FOR THE ENGINE AND SUSPENSION. I SWAPPED OUT THE 1600 DUAL PORT IT HAD IN AUGUST '02 FOR THE NEW 2.0 LITER STROKER
ENGINE: THE DISPLACEMENT OF 1975cc, A BALANCED CRANK (MAGNA-FLUXED FOR CRACKS) ENGLE CAM. STROKE 86mm BORE 85.5mm. WELL FOR ALL YOU MOTORHEADS AND MATHMATICIANS OUT THERE YOU KNOW THIS MAKES IT A STROKER THAT IS NEARLY "SQUARED". OKAY ALL THAT BEING SAID, ITS ALSO GOT DOUBLE SPRUNG OVERSIZED VALVES, PORTED AND POLISHED HEADS,NEW MEXICAN BLOCK, DUAL 44 IDF WEBERS, BOSCH ALTERNATOR, CHROME MOLLY PUSH RODS, EXTERNAL LONG OIL COOLER W/ ELECTRIC FAN, NEW ENGINE TINS/FAN SHROUD POWDER COATED IN SATIN BLACK, WELDED TRANNY STRAP, HAND PLUMBED METAL FUEL LINES, K&N AIR CLEANERS, AND A GENE BERG LINKAGE SYSTEM. EXHAUST IS A HIGH TUCK HEADER WITH A CUSTOM MADE MANDREL BENT 2-3/4" PRIMARY TUBE SLUNG TO PASSENGER SIDE INTO A TWO CHAMBER 8X13 FLOWMASTER IN THE WHEEL WELL. ABOUT 1/2" IF THE PRIMARY TUBE IS ALL THAT SHOWS BELOW THE REAR APRON. THE PEA SHOOTER HOLES HAVE BEEN LEAD FILLED AND FLUSHED.
SUSPENSION:IS A SELECT-A-DROP FRONT AXLE W/ KYB SLAM SHOCKS AND A SWAY BAR. REAR IS DROPPED 3 CLICKS WITH COIL OVER ADJUSTABLE SHOCKS.
STEREO: PIONEER CD HEAD UNIT (IN THE GLOVE BOX, ALONG SIDE A VDO CLOCK)STOCK AM RADIO IS STILL IN DASH. CUSTOM MADE KICK-PANELS WITH 5 1/4 2 WAY PIONEERS AND A BOX UNDER REAR DECK WITH 2 6X9 3 WAY PIONEER 300 WATT SPEAKERS.
