Here is my currrent engine. Nothing much is done to her. But after the poll was taken and tally of a couple hundred votes. I will be getting the Acura RSX K-20a Type-R motor over the Acura Integra Type-R B18c5.
Out will go the little engine that couldn't, and in its place will be the motive force behind the Japanese-market Integra Type-R. Or, for those fluent in tuner-speech, the stock 1.7-liter D series was swapped with a 2.0-liter JDM DC5 Type-R K20A. The Type-R K20A engine pumps out approximately 220 hp at a breathtaking 8000 rpm and a little more than 150 lb-ft of torque at 7000 rpm, thanks to Honda's latest i-VTEC system and some keen intake and exhaust tuning. In comparison, my 1999 Civic DX generated a measly 127 hp at 6300 rpm.
Here are the numbers:
B18C (Type R): 200Hp , 134Trq 11.1 Compression(JDM) Price: $4000-$5000 . ($5000-$6000 after swap done)
K20A (RSX Type R): 220 Hp 158Trq 11.5 Compression (JDM) Price: $4500-$5600. ($6500-$8000 after swap done)
I have a AEM Intake to help her breath. I have accel ignition wires. And Here is my Exhaust. I have a full exhaust system on there now. I have OBX headers which goes to Ractive exhaust pipes and then exits out of my 4.25 inch muffler tip. There is nothing ricey about my muffler. It has a very deep rubble to the exhaust.
